Dont be a jerk, just hoping Shaq is the second coming of TD and gets a chance to emulate TD in his own career.

Sorry if I came across that way. We can all hope too, but there are much more deserving players of a statue on the team than Shaq, and honestly the only one deserving right now is TD. Next closest is Olsen. Smitty won't get one and probably shouldn't. He's the best Panther of all time in my opinion, but a statue isn't fitting for him.

You definitely can't put Shaq in there with those guys at this point in time. Hopefully one day but c'mon m

Yeah, I'm wishfully thinking, but I'm educationally, wishfully thinking.

Shaq has gotten every bit of Panther love as any playerin memory.

Yes, TD has been the consumate Panther and earned NFL-MOY,.,,,No reason to doubt Shaq at this point...especially considering that he

is the player being brought in to eventually emulate TD

I would be ok giving Smitty a statue. But TD being MOY is something super-special.

I'm just hoping that Shaq and Kuechly spend their days as teammates in a Panthers uniform and get to be debated as greatest athletes to don the uniform.

As much as I love TD, think about how good we could have been in 2008 with Aaron Rodgers...

he inherited a top-5 defense, a great coach and got Favre to take him under his wing. we weren't prepared for Rogera and the play of Cam, since his NFL inception may be far and away more dynamic then Rogers...not too mention Cam has basically only had one go-to receiver since he came into the league.

just not sure Rogers would be as successful here as he has been in GB.

He wouldn't need to be as successful. Even above-average would have been enough. I mean, we had a top-ten offense that year, with a Jake Delhomme whose arm had almost fallen off.

Our defense was of little-to-no factor in that game.

why in the world did we give Delhomma that ridiculous contract after we stopped dominating the Cardinals after we owned them with our rushing attAck to start the game?

    • When we drafted Luke, we already had Cam, Smith, Olsen, Stewart, Deangleo, Gross, Kalil, CJ, Hardy, Beason, TD, Gamble (and maybe more I'm forgetting), we had a lot of great pieces in place. Going pure BPA for a player with Luke's potential when the LB you already have is different when you already have all those pieces in place.  Our OL right now is probably in a better shape than that team and our RBs and TE have potential compared to proven vets back then, but after that, the 2012 roster was in a far better shape than we are right now. We need a #1 WR, DEs, LBs, DBs, C, and depending who you ask a QB.  Going BPA at pick #5 when that player is a DT and your current best player on either side of the ball is a DT, seems irresponsible. If he's the only player they like that high left, then you trade back and go with position of more need at a slot that makes sense for the player while adding other picks.  If you trade back and he falls because other teams don't need/want a DT, then you consider him at that point because of the value.
    • This sounds like the same back and forth when we drafted a LB when we already had a LB or as mentioned prior back to back DLs. I want the BPA, if it is another DT so be it. (No not a kicker/punter for those people that think they are funny))
    • I’m hoping SMU messes it all up and wins out. Imagine the SEC & BI0 would crap themselves trying to “fix” the problem.
