Watched it again for the first time in a while over break, along with the win over the Eagles in the NFC championship. Still can't bring myself to rewatch the SB even 11 years later.

Question about X clown: does anybody know if it refers to the play call, or the route Smith ran? (I've always assumed it was the route and the X meant X receiver.)

It was the play call, route was pretty much a faked corner route into a post. Smith said after that he'd screwed up the route in training loads of times and finally got it right in the game.

The first year I became a Panthers fan TBH. I think I was about 8 or 9, so I only remember bits and pieces from that magical playoff run. Like the Steve Smith catch over 2 Cowboys in the wildcard game. Then the Ricky Manning int and Steve Smith OT TD catch in this game. Then Ricky Manning sh*tting on Donovan McNabb in the NFC championship. That DeShaun Foster run of course (both against the Eagles and Pats). I remember going to elementary school after our superbowl loss with my Panther jacket on crying all day. Man, these vids just bring back the feels.

I bought a Ricky Manning, Jr. jersey because of this season. Rocked it until I bought a new one two years ago.
