I've never understood the being scared of spiders thing.  Sure, there's some dangerous ones and babies can go everywhere when you kill some, but...

Its because spiders are alien looking compared to humans and most other animals we come into contact with on a daily basis. Its no accident that dogs and cats, the animals we keep as pets at least resemble us in facial structure and body plans.
