Do you ever feel like punching yourself in the balls for passing up on a deal?

Nah...fug stuff you don't need. Deal or not. I go to car dealerships regularly and haggle cars I have no intention buying. I could probably make a living off it if I wanted. I've flipped cars a couple times and always make at least $1,000.

Found a beautiful Honda one day and talked the guy waaaaaay down. I could have made several thousands but didn't buy it because the guy had an attitude, which he should have had because he wasn't making poo on the deal besides a sale quota.

But money is much better to have than poo you don't need, and there is only one thing I love more than money, women and footballs and that's my time. It's just not worth it sometimes, don't sweat it.

Seriously, why on Earth would you do this?

Meh. Brand new Plasmas aren't that expensive these days (relatively speaking). Getting an old one at $650 ain't that great a deal IMO.

Or at the very least, so good a deal you should be upset over it.

For $650 I was getting:

65" samsung plasma

Apple TV

Bose 321 surround sound system with speakers

And a TiVo HD box

That Bose system might be pretty sweet, but the rest of it... like I said it isn't something I would be that upset about.

That TV itself is already 8 years old. Apple TV and TiVo is no big deal these days. The Nose system might be sweet, but whatever.

I don't think u missed on a spectacular deal, but what do I know

Sometimes I do buy them when I talk them down enough.

Met my car mechanic this way, he has saved me thousands.

Strengthen negotiating skills.

Piss off asshole sales people.

Embarrassing sales people who should not be there in the first place with their lack of knowledge.

I was ripped off when I was younger and so were a lot of other people I know. So I find it fun to turn around the game on them.

I could keep going but mainly because while I have no intention of buying as I said, I will buy it if I can get them low enough.

I don't do this on my Friday nights or anything lol. I work by a bunch of dealerships and sometimes have 1-2 hours to kill.

Gotta be honest here man...that's not a cool thing to do.

Those guys may work on a "line" system, and although there may be lots of shitty car guys out there, you may be taking money out of the pockets of one of the nice ones.

Works both ways, car salesman don't mind screwing over hard working people, so that's really not my problem.

I'm not disagreeing with you but that's the way it works; casualties happen.

I'd be willing to bet more often than not the casualties lie on the buyer's side.

In the end it's about me being able to make some money. I'm not there to make anyone else money. And every single sales person on a car lot has the exact same mindset. I let them know right away all I'm going to be for them is a sales quota and they'll still try to screw me. I need them to fetch paperwork and I write them a check. In all, 10 minutes of their time of they don't try and BS. How much money should I pay them for that 10 minutes? I'm not paying for all the time others may have wasted.

They don't have to sell to me or negotiate and some don't. I have no problems with it. I can be thought of as a dick or ass all day long but in the end, I make money. They make a sales quota and lose a whole 10 minutes of their life, unless they play stupid.

Are car salesmen not hard working people as well?

And what the hell are casualties when talking about a sales process?

If you want to make money that way, pick out one good salesperson that you like and do all of your business with them, you won't have to go to the lot or bicker, he will know what he is getting with you, and will probably reach out to you personally if there is a "deal" to be had.
