Carolina Panthers sign Stanford fullback Lee Ward. Ward is listed on the Panthers roster as being 5'11 246lbs. 

 

I noticed him today during one on one pass drills where he looked pretty good catching balls out of the backfield. With Mike Tolbert's roster shot not being a sure thing this season and Richie Brockel being hurt last season, Ward could have an opportunity to showcase his skills and make a case for himself.

Brockel's spot more in jeopardy than Tolbert's imo. Tolbert's been reliable on 3rd downs and in the red zone. It's not a coincidence the offense sank when he went on temporary IR then revived when he got healthy. 1-7-1 without him vs. 6-1 with him.

Hell he probably IS the best fullback in the league when healthy.  He doesn't have a history of injury problems either... poo just happens sometimes.

Dude was as instrumental as anybody to our success in 2013.  Plenty more plays than the ones above and he laid out some pretty big clutch blocks in crucial moments.  That game winning TD pass to Hixon against the Saints for one.  Tolbert chipped the LBer (or safety, can't remember) who had a free run right at Cam just enough to throw him off balance and let Cam get the pass off.

      Too early to tell. It's different in that aspect but if the draft is the same old then it's just polishing the turd. Not going on prodays was a basic step towards bare minimum. We will see.

      I probably did not state this properly, but Waldo is on topic.  There was a lot of criticism about the Panther owners getting involved in 2023.  Bryce is doing fine and it could turn out to be the right pick--the point is, they need to 1. stay away from the process.  there is no point 2.  It seemed to have worked in 2024 and they were in the shadows or out of it, but we did not have a first rounder.  Then there was this altercation with the restaurant owner.  This year, we have the #8 overall pick in round 1 and they do not seem to be involved.  Or are they???? And this was meant to be light and humorous.
