La'el Collins signs with Cowboys

You have got to be fugging kidding me. What in the hell is he thinking? He had his pick of teams and he's going to the team that has the best OL in the NFL??? A team that will give him zero chance to play at LT, which is the big money position on the OL???

Wow.

Being objective its very easy to see how "America's team" won a free agent wooing contest. He was recruited by the owner, not a player, not a coach, but an owner. Went to his house. I knew once he went he wasn't coming back. Plus he's going to get to play on a good oline and take the pressure off himself. Nobody wants to build anything anymore, everyone wants to be a part of something. Easy decision for him in my opinion.

Good lord, man.  I think literally EVERYONE understands that.  What I'm saying is that when you have a guy who is considered a 1st or 2nd round prospect who is available for dirt cheap at a position of need, you'd think we'd be ALL OVER HIM.

I honestly doubt everyone understands that. Lack of common sense on the internet and all. Still you forget that 31 others teams are also jocking for his services.  1st and 2nd round prospect? Might be according to the talking heads on espn, but to someone like dave maybe not. Who knows. But still i think they did reach out to him, maybe not to the point they gave him a verbal bj like the cowboys.

so you get to make a positive statement that the panthers didn't pursue him at all and everybody else has to prove you wrong

cool story bro

Seriously dude, your reading comprehension skills are pathetic.  I'm saying there is NO INDICATION that we were interested.  That is not a definitive statement.  I am welcoming someone to show me that I'm wrong on that and if they do, I'll own it.

To play devils advocate hurst was a rookie and bell is like 4 yr pro.....

that's not what i'm arguing

-40 PFF grade and gave up something like 32 combined sacks/hits/hurries.  i'm not saying bell is good but to keep bringing up a guy that, again, nobody would care about if he wasn't a tar heel and played nearly as bad is lol

I thought max salary for UDFA's in '15-'17 totalled $1.57 million.   How did they get above that?

Teams are limited to around $80k total in all UDFA signing bonuses and the Cowboys ponied up with $21,000.

So Collins will play out of position, at a position that will pay less when he can become a FA and have to battle for a spot all for $5-10k???
