In all about 25 teams expressed interest in Collins. Dallas sold

him today. Gets chance to start at LG immediately next to a

strong center..

If I was the guy getting replaced because of a deal instead of talent I would want out immediately. I would call the NFLPA and my agent to get me the fug out.

If the Panthers front office was smart about this, they would have drafted Collins with a 7th round pick, and then signed him after he was given the green light. Just because you draft them does not mean you need to sign them.

 

Got to be smart when playing the draft if you are in need of a prospect.

 

By the time the draft got here, especially by the third day, all indications were that Collins was likely to be cleared.  I gotta think that word was sent out to the 32 teams that drafting Collins was going to be highly frowned upon by the league.  The NFL didn't want anymore PR black eyes on the domestic violence front.  Drafting Collins before he was officially cleared would've been spun by some media outlets as a black eye.

couldn't you say the exact same thing for all 32 teams though.  or if the list just has to be narrowed down all the teams that need an upgrade at tackle?

 

i can't blame anyone for getting queasy about drafting a prospect who wasn't cleared as a person of interest for a rae carruth-level crime
