Cowboys meeting with Collins. Jerry Jones "We want to have the best offensive line ever

Recommended Posts

When Jerry wants a player, he usually gets him.

Listen, this will come down to Collins agent wanting guarantees that La' el will be a starter. Either OT or OG.

Dallas is ruthless enough to give him that guarantee over current starters Doug Free or Ronald Leary. Even if Collins hasn't earned it.

Gettleman and Rivera would never agree to giving a guy a starting job simply because his agent demands it.

This is why a team that will do ANYTHING to sign Collins will ultimately get his signature.

Yes, It will be frustrating reading Le' el signing w/Cowboys or Bills but our organization is doing the right thing. Remember that.

Told you.  You have to admire Jerry Jones for doing whatever it takes to get the player he wants.

Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Dallas Cowboys have signed former LSU OL La’el Collins to a contract.

  • Ian Rapoport has confirmed the report that Collins is signing with the Cowboys.
  • Rapoport reports that Collins receives a three-year contract from that Cowboys that is fully guaranteed.
  • According to Rapoport, the Cowboys have been monitoring Collins’ situation from the beginning and have done “endless work” on him.

Yesterday, Collins took his first visit with an NFL team by traveling to meet with the Cowboys.

This came after the news that recent tests showed that Collins is not the father of Brittney Mills child, who tragically passed away last week.

Chad Sabadie of Fox 8 New Orleans spoke to a source who mentioned that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones‘ told Collins that they want to “assemble the greatest offensive line ever” as part of their pitch to the undrafted free agent.

Apparently, Jones’ was able to convince Collins that his best opportunity to secure a long-term contract was to join their impressive offensive line.

The Cowboys will be limited in the type of contract they can offer Collins, seeing as he wound up going undrafted last weekend. It’s also worth mentioning that he’ll be able to renegotiate his contract after two years.
