NFL says Pats guilty, and Brady knew

Recommended Posts

you get 4 games for using adderall...a drug used to improve your mental focus....

what's the suspension for knowingly deflating balls to fit better in your tiny girly hands?

Sean Payton suspended an entire season even though he swears he knew nothing about bounty gate....Billycheat has already been found guilty once before

this will all get very interesting

My money is on Roger giving Brady a 1 game vacation. I think he deserves the season but I doubt it.

Everyone upset about the word "probable" should read the word in context. The word describes the burden of proof used during the investigation, which sounds to be proof by a preponderance of the evidence. That is a legal standard much lower than proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and it essentially means "the greater probability of the evidence," i.e. more probable than not.

Sure thing Mike Florio

After they cheated to get to the superbowl

You do realize that Brady's stats in the 2nd half of the AFC title game, AFTER the refs had fixed the inflation of the footballs, were better than his stats in the 1st half, right?

Right?

It is actually quite easy to see if you read the word in context of how it is used in the report. Investigations, whether they are criminal in nature or internal to an organization, require a burden of proof to either substantiate or unsubstantiate the claims. By using that language in the report, the investigator was merely saying, "The burden has been met."

But you all can keep your panties in a was if you'd like.

The results of his cheating are irrelevant to the fact that he cheated. If he cheated and it HURT his game he would just be a terrible cheater. And the fact that he lied about the cheating is potentially worse than what he did to cheat. From the NFL perspective at least.

It was warm and dry which is totally different. Deflating the balls helps catch it in cold or wet weather.

Again, the refs fixed the game balls at the half and maintained possession of them, NOT turning over the balls to either the officials locker room attendant or the Patriots equipment attendant.

And the Patriots did BETTER in the 2nd half than the 1st.

The cheating had absolutely NOTHING to do with the outcome of the game. Hell, maybe the Colt LB doesn't even MAKE his int in the Patriot red zone if the ball hadn't been deflated.

I wrote my post previously about how I think everyone involved (including the organization) deserves HARSH punishment.

But the game result was gonna be that result no matter what.

Again, refer to my very first post in this thread. I call for very harsh punishments.

My point here is toward the "they only made it to the Superb Owl because they deflated the footballs" crowd.

That is why this is really bad in my opinion. He didn't need to cheat to win so why do it ? Unless he wasn't sure of his team's ability to win or he wanted to win so badly he was willing to do anything to do it. The problem with that organization is not that they want to win so badly but the ends justify the means and they will do anything to win include bend or even break the rules.

On all the National news programs, Brady deflating footballs is the lead story at the moment right behind the tornadoes that destroyed much of the Midwest yesterday. It's on CNN, World Evening News last night, Good Morning America, even Entertainment Tonight, etc.

Turn on any sports talk radio right now and all they are talking about is Brady deflating footballs.

Seems like a sh*t storm to me and honestly if it was Cam, it wouldn't be near the National story that transcends sports that it is now.

Plus as mentioned - ball boys for the Panthers were heating the balls up to soften them for Cam during the Vikings game which is illegal but it was a total non story which it should be. The Vikings were doing it as well.

Brady, the Patriots, their history of winning and stepping over the lines on rules make this story a sh*t storm.

"Well every qb is looking to gain an advantage in the league"

"Well he did play the Colts for six quarters with re-inflated balls"

"Patriot way"

Ugggghhh

Where as Cam would likely be

"Major character issues"

"Deserves a suspension"

The evidence supports that they did it all year, and even before that, so it's likely they wouldn't have made it to the AFC Championship game even without cheating. They wouldn't have beaten Baltimore.
