"Panthers had most underrated offseason of any team"

Also, you only trade up when you feel like you won't be able to get a specific set of players with your next pick. When we traded up for Devin, DG probably felt as though none of the players with second/first round grade that he liked would fall to them. DG had Shaq rated right up there with DJ, and if both were gone, I imagine Funchess/Devin Smith would have been the pick anyways.

Considering Getts had a first round grade on Funchess, getting him in the too of the second was great value. (Worth the move) I'm pretty sure he had Daryl rated higher as well. Very great draft according to our board. (I believe)

There was NOT ONE LT in this draft who was plug and play. Every one is going to be pushed inside to guard or RT for the first year or two. So Oher was going to be our LT no matter who we drafted. There have been very few rookie starters @ LT recently who had any immediate success. Atlanta drafted one last year @ #3 and he graded out worse than Bell so they had to move him to guard. The most important trait for this line is run blocking. If we can run the ball and Cam can use play-action passes, we'll score enough points to win any game.

I was glad Ariz. took Humphries @24, Shaq gives us tremendous versatility to be in base or nickel w/o substituting. With so many teams going to no huddle to create formation mismatches, we will be able to counter be making alignment/assignment adjustments with the same team on the field. I think this will come to be seen as a Gman/RR genius move

This is what will make us a MUCH better team.............more so than any OT in this draft.

Also we can hide what our defense is for that play better, because we dont have to change out players to go from base to big nickel.

Shaq has a shot at being the DROY just based on what he will do for out defense.

This defense will be top 5 for many years to come. It will be a lot of fun for those of us that enjoy a great defense.

Interesting sequence of Tweets from Chris Trapasso, NFL.com Editor.

@ChrisTrapasso: #Panthers had most underrated offseason of any team. Re-signed Dickson, Olsen. FA adds: Coleman, Trusnik, Ginn, Todman, Tillman, Martin, Oher...

@ChrisTrapasso: ...those two OTs aren't exactly game-changers but represents upgrades over their horrid OT situation in '14.

@ChrisTrapasso: In draft #Panthers added another matchup nightmare WR in Funchess, Thomas Davis insurance in Shaq Thompson & more OL help in Darly Williams.

@ChrisTrapasso: IIRC, #Panthers didn't have much cap room & weren't loaded w/ extra picks. I think their front office did a really good job this offseason.

@ChrisTrapasso: Carolina certainly has holes. But given their situation, overall, I like the moves they made this offseason. @OptimumScouting

@ChrisTrapasso: The Shaq pick was a bit peculiar. And LT may still be an issue, just think they had a good but pretty underrated offseason @OptimumScouting

Ole Nippleshorts may know something after all.

But we were loaded with extra picks...until we traded them away. Also, while Shaq might be TD insurance I don't think he's going to be backing anyone up. At least I hope not.

2 extra picks sandwiched between the 5th and 6th rounds is "loaded"?
