Fox Sports not to optimistic about Panthers chances this season

Let's be real guys. When is anybody at the national level ever optimistic about a Panthers season?

Heck, sometimes it's difficult enough just to get people in our own fanbase to be optimistic.

I think what is funniest about us "not addressing the offensive line" is we are in an era of Panthers football with some decent results. Three years running we are 7 wins, 12 wins, and 8 wins. All of those years with Byron Bell and much worse playing for us. We started David Foucalt at one point last year.

Last year things got bad, real bad, and we still won the division. At some point you have to admit something is going right.

It's like with the Golden State Warriors last night. That was the worst I've seen them play this year, and they lost by 7 to a good team. If that is the worst they can do, then they have a lot to offer on a good day.

We have a lot to offer on a good season.

He is basically we did not improve overall as we did not address tackle at all (Oher, Martin, Williams?) so we should finish like we did last year.

Obviously 24 teams will be 500 or better this year...

25: Panthers

"The Panthers inexplicably neglected to fix the offensive tackle holes this offseason with premium draft picks or free agent contracts, but they did add two potential day one starters at other positions in the draft. If the team takes a step forward in other areas, but a step back in pass protection, they should win a similar amount of games in 2015."

Lol.

I tend to agree. I mean, we did just replace Byron Bell with the Tennessee Titans version of Byron Bell. Still don't understand the defense-first, ball control team drafting wide receivers over offenseive linemen two years in a row. And like OP expected me to say, 7-8-1 is NOT a good record. Panthers have gone 7-9 most in their short history. The fact that they won the division not only doesn't change that, but makes going 7-8-1 while playing horrible opponents twice each even worse.
