I started this a long time ago and update during the offseason. Our history is so short that it makes putting these lists together complicated and so you have to use judgement calls on what criteria to use. I mostly used stats and all-pro selections and ranked them in that order. Giving all-pros more weight.

Current players most likely to make it in the future: Kelvin Benjamin, Trai Turner, Kawaan Short, Star Lotulelei, Josh Norman.

OFFENSE:

WR2: Muhsin Muhammad - Patrick Jeffers

LT: Blake Brockermeyer - Todd Steussie

LG: Travelle Wharton - Matthew Campbell

C: Ryan Kalil - Jeff Mitchell

RG: Kevin Donnalley - Frank Garcia

RT: Jordan Gross

TE: Wesley Walls - Greg Olsen - Jeremy Shockey

WR1: Steve Smith - Mark Carrier - Ted Ginn Jr.

QB: Cam Newton - Steve Beuerlein - Jake Delhomme

FB: Mike Tolbert - Brad Hoover

HB: DeAngelo Williams - Jonathan Stewart - Stephen Davis

DEFENSE:

LDE: Julius Peppers - Mike Rucker

LDT: Greg Kragen - Brentson Buckner

RDT: Kris Jenkins - Sean Gilbert

RDE: Greg Hardy - Charles Johnson

SLB: Thomas Davis - Will Witherspoon

MLB: Luke Kuechly - Jon Beason - Sam Mills

WLB: Kevin Greene - Lamar Lathon

LCB: Eric Davis - Doug Evans - Tyrone Poole

RCB: Chris Gamble - Ken Lucas

SS: Mike Minter - Chris Harris

FS: Deon Grant - Pat Terrell

SPECIAL TEAMS:

K: John Kasay

P/KO/H: Todd Sauerbrun

PR: Ted Ginn Jr. - Steve Smith

KR: Michael Bates - Steve Smith

LS: Jason Kyle

Not bad, but I'd put Rocket Ismail over Ted Ginn.

If this is suppose to be an all-star list...why is Jason Williams and Gary Barnidgef (to name a few) on here?

Kris Mangum should be on this list somewhere if you've got Jeff King and Dante Rosario...while he wasn't flashy, he played for us for 10 years and was a solid contributor.

He has Jon Beason over Luke Kuechly..yikes.

i did say that i wasnt listing them in order of talent whenever i have a list within a position group... but thanks for the input. just like Kris Magnum:

Throw in:

Jason Kyle, LS: was our long snapper for 8 seasons during our better years

Mike Wahle, LG: Pro-bowl guard for us during mid-2000s.

Reggie White, DE: only played for us for 1 season, but is one of the best ever.

Mark Fields, LB: Had a productive career, only played for us for few seasons, missed out on SB year due to cancer, started the keep pounding slogan with Sam Mills

Karl Hankton: Special teams ace for us for 7 seasons.

Fred Lane, RB: was off the a promising career till he was murdered.

Jake Delhomme and Steve Beurlein should be added behind Cam.

REMOVE:

Gary Barnidge, Ben Hartsock, Jeff King, and Dante Rosario, Geoff Schwartz, Kindal Moorehead, Na'il Diggs, James Anderson, Jason Williams, Dante Wesley, Ricky Manning, Rod Smith

i took some of your advice, whatever seemed to agree with what others have said. i do have a question, what about the right side of our line? no one seems to be able to agree on who our best right tackle and guard were...

You can move Hangartner over the RG, since he played more time there than LG

Kevin Donnalley (RG) and Jeno James (LG) were our starting guards during our superbowl season.  That unit was our best ever.

The best guy we've had at RT was Jordan Gross, he played both sides at some point of his career,  Jeff Otah was good when he played, just barely ever played.  Outside of that, I don't think we've ever had a solid RT who stayed there long-term.

so the best starting line up would be something along the lines of (left to right) Todd Steussie, Travelle Wharton/Mike Wahle/Jeno James, Ryan Kalil, Ken Donnalley/Geoff Hangartner, Jordan Gross?

If you have Cam over Jake Delhomme on your all time Panthers list, I'm not sure what to say. Cam very well may end up at the top, but as of right now, Jake took the Panthers to a Super Bowl and had a stretch of years where he was a very good QB.

regardless of Jake's accomplishments, i am giving deference to overall talent.

all other positions being the same, i would take Cam Newton's talent over Jake Delhomme's history any day.

besides... Cam has yet to turn the ball over six times in a playoff game after a dominating season by the Panther defense and ground game.

i do find it interesting, however, that a Saints fan decided to comment on this thread. i wouldnt think you'd have a dog in this fight, except maybe Sam Mills...
