Why did Portis and Turner get in over D-will?

There's a pretty lengthy article on the official site that quotes DWill not giving a sh*t about the pro-bowl. It's just another distraction to players in the reg. season. You should play to win...not play to pad stats and make it to the pro-bowl. DWill knows that. I hope he declines too.

I know the probowl is a popularity contest but its also supposed to Honor the leagues best players and show case them. But the fact that the fan vote it is biased and given to much weight is detrimental to this but, well... it is what it is.

Because they got more votes than Williams did. Because there are more REdskins fans than Panthers fan...

I know fan votes only count for something like 10% of the total but if one player gets a ton of votes.. it's means something.

It's like any game, especially all-star game, the networks want ratings and they want the MOST popular players. Nobody is going to whine about Portis starting if a lot of Redskins fans tune in, even if Portis isn't as deserving as Williams is.

Small market teams don't often fair well with overall fan voting.

I am sure Williams will get in as a substitute. It's one of those situations where a higher up needs to make a call for a player who deserves it.

How did Peppers get in over Abraham?

You should be asking how Justin Tuck got in over Abraham, not Peppers. Since you asked though, Peppers is a better all around DE than Abraham. Peppers may not be quite as good a pass rusher but it's close and Peppers is an every down player, while Abraham is not.

Williams leads the entire league (forget about just RBs) in touchdowns and has the highest YPC of all starting running back and he gets overlooked.

...yet another reason I think pro bowlers should be elected by sports writers and not stupid fanboys who have nothing better to do but refresh the probowl page and vote for everybody that plays for their team over and over again.

Sportswriters aren't exactly much better than fanboys.

To be honest, I'm glad he didn't make it. I wish none of the Panthers made it. I feel bad for D-Will, but I would hate for him to get injured because of a popularity contest, a game that means absolutely nothing, which could possibly be detrimental to his season next year.
