Panthers looking for new special teams coach

Recommended Posts

Is there a web site that identifies available coaches? I've poked around on Google a little bit but can't find anything.

On a side note, I wouldn't mind if they hired Al Golden away from University of Miami so they can start fresh......but that won't happen. ;)

Who's the favorite to replace him?

I think we know who Rivera wants, but hopefully they know fans will riot if that happens.

That said, hope de haven gets well soon, not his fault he has medical issues, even in the case that they put Rodgers back as the coach.

Initial ideas...

If former Green Bay ST Coach Shawn Slocum wants to come back to the pros (he's with Arizona State) that could work.

Former Panthers ST Coach - more recently with the Patriots - Scott O'Brien retired this offseason.  Problem there is everyone who ever worked with him here hated his guts.  He's said to be a colossal a--hole.

There's a fellow named Ted Daisher who used to be an associate of Bobby April.  He's currently the safety coach at UMass but he's been the ST coach for three NFL teams (all short jobs though, may not be that good).

I'll look more later (got some stuff to do) but basically it's a lousy time of year to need a good coach.

Of these options, I'd want Slocum.
