You have to feel better about this roster compared to last year.

I think the biggest thing is we don't have any huge question marks like we had last year, how would Byron Bell transition after being awful on the right side? How would Nate Chandler do as a full time starter after being below mediocre in his last couple of games? Could Harper and Decoud fill the safety role? Can Cason be a number one corner after being a 2-3 his whole career? how would we replace Hardy? Can a rookie fill the role as a number one receiver and will Cotchery even be halfway decent? How will our guards play after a mediocre year last year? Can DeAngelo stay healthy?

Think about all the questions we have this year, the biggest I can think of is "Can Michael Oher be better than Bell" which seems like an obvious answer. We are much better this year, and we have young players growing into their own. The Carolina Panthers will threepeat this division and we will be dominant for years to come.

I do feel great.. Its such an amazing feeling that we are quite possibly set at the WR position.. A couple weeks ago I wanted us to sign a Crabtree or Jennings, now we are so stacked at WR i wouldnt want either for vet minimum because of the roster space and reps they take away from Funchess and KB.

KB and Funchess could be our 1/2 WR for the next decade. I feel great about our O line, our safety spot is a little suspect but our D will be fine. I admit, I would be lying if I said I wasnt concerned with Shaq missing OTAs. Im sorry but im not a fan of players missing any football time because of school. NFL is serious business and you need every millisecond of training and practice you can get. I feel when a player comes to the NFL they need to put their degree and education on hold. This is now their career and a big decision like the NFL deserves 110% of that player's time and energy

DE is my main concern.

CJ is one of the best in the game, he will elevate whoever plays on the other hand. As long as we have a decent rotation on the right side, the line will be fine.

This year may not be a Championship caliber team, but i wouldnt be surprised to see this team in the NFC champ game.

We're only a year or two away. I really believe that. Getts building a dynasty and signing backups that can move to the forefront and still produce competitively.

Guys like Shaq, who value their education, are in the mold of NFL Men of the year. TD, Peanut and maybe Shaq is next to add to that list. Its a big part of what type of franchise we are inheriting and the type of players that make this a coveted franchise that earns the respect of the league around the country.

Stew isn't a high end player, not with his injury history. You can't give Shaq above average and fringe high end status before he's played a snap of preseason. Tillman is above average, even at this point in his career and with his injury history.

C: Max Unger: 4

FS: Jarius Byrd: 3-4

Unger has been to 2 Pro Bowls you have him equal to Stew at their respective positions. Jarius Byrd has been to 3 Pro Bowls and you have him rated at Shaq Thompson's level. That's terrible.

Re: Vic Beasley: 3-4

ILB: Paul Worrilow: 2

That's a horrible rating for Paul. To say he's half the player of a rookie is disrespectful. He had 143 tackles last year. 84 solo, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles. He's a really good player.

    • True.  Sam and Baker did not do well here but went on to better things under better coaching, circumstances or both.  The real question is, ‘why aren’t the Panthers able to get improved performance out of ‘broken toys’, similar to Minnesota and Tampa? That is a rhetorical question.  I think we know the answer.   [The cultural reference to Pogo dates me, I admit.]
    • Did I mention that he was on worse teams?  Yes.  Do QBs alone win games?  No.  Did Cam, on a much better team with some awesome defenses ever have 2 consecutive winning seasons?  No.  So now you are cherry picking,  If the overall stats are similar, you take a look at him.   I told you that you look at his skill set---but you wanted to tell me that he sucks and mentioned performance.  I just presented performance--and his numbers are very similar to Cam Newton's numbers--a player most call the best Panther QB ever--and I agree.  By the way, Fumbles are evidence of how bad his OL has been--so you are saying that a QB in a situation worse than Cam's who has stats and physical abilities very similar to Cam's should not be given a look when you have Bryce Young at QB?  You are going with that story because you simply talked your way into a corner and now you are trying to save face.  No good GM would do what you suggest because "he sucks."  Sorry, but the facts do not support you.  But no matter what eye-opening details I provide, there are some who are going to go their Google machines to try to find some reason to support an ignorant approach to developing the QB position.  You ignored the similarities to Cam and went cherry picking.  I know what you are doing--but I am only suggesting (as I have stated before) that we bring him in as one of three approaches to resolving the QB issue. Compete with Bryce and draft a QB. Basically, I am suggesting that Jones has the potential to replace Dalton and compete with Young.  He is a battered stock that could get better in a better situation--that is human nature.  Instead, I am called a Daniel Jones lover and superfan.  That is good debate--But a real sign of mature thinking is the inability to LOGICALLY consider alternative perspectives--which is actually a characteristic of intelligence.  Just so you know, I critique and perform research in my job.  I am often amazed at how the numbers do not support my suppositions.  I learned that my impression is often wrong until I look at the data.  In this case, I have considered all the important variables and he should get a shot.  Numbers don't lie--and when you and others resort to twisted name calling directed toward the poster--it verifies my position.
    • I don’t get this, I know that is the popular thought process but I just don’t think it’s true.  For instance head to head last year the ACC had a winning record against the SEC.  The SEC had a losing record in bowl games. This year so far the head to head is 2-3 SEC and that’s with a fluke Vandy win in week one.  I see the ACC taking another head to head winning season after next week.  The SEC is mostly hype with 3 good teams, in my opinion.  But to say any ACC team would get exposed I believe is a stretch
