The "new look" Dallas Cowboys

Wait, I got another one.

The Dallas Cowboys will steal a page from the college game and have a "traveling team," composed of players who are not restricted to house arrest and whose misdemeanors do not become felonies when crossing state lines.

Boom.  I'm on fire.

I am the opposite. I would rather lose with guys with high character and tremendous work ethic than win with scum bags who abuse drugs, women, and every opportunity their God-given gifts afford them. Good thing you usually don't have to. There are big pictures that these fudge badgers don't get--values associated with being a part of something bigger than the self. A mass of dung does not make marble, so if you want to build your house with various aspects of turdery, then prepare for life in the poo house.

The end.

Hey, to each his own. I respect your point of view on this subject. I just have a different view of pro sports. I share your point of view as it pertains to youth sports through college athletics. Once you get to the pros it's a business.

I am with you, I just don't think you can win with players who have poor character--when you need them the most, they disappear because adversity is when character is developed.  I think most players have character and work ethic because it takes so much to get to the top.  Unfortunately, some don't.  But we actually pull for the uniform and the helmet--even if we brought in Dez Bryant and re-signed Rae Carruth, people would stay Panther fans.

Jerry Jones is again upgrading his billion-dollar franchise to enhance the fan experience and add authenticity for the players.  The biggest news is the scrapping of the traditional cheerleader costumes that have been a trademark of the franchise for nearly fifty years.  The new Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders will be heavily-tatooed gentlemen in doo-rags and sagging pants.  They will call themselves the "bowboys", a reference to the pose they will be frequenting. It's all in the name of quality family entertainment.

I just want to win Super Bowls. The world is full of dick-bags and assholes. I don't hold athletes to some higher moral standard. The only thing that would piss me off is if a guy ends up suspended, which would hurt chances of my team winning the game. I watch football for the W's and the L's. I want more W's. I want to see all those assholes that invade BofA when their "grandpas team" comes to Charlotte forced to leave our stadium defeated and beat down. Outside of some heinous crime like rape or murder, whatever player we can get to help that cause is fine by me.

Murder? Who murdered somebody? That's a bit dramatic, isn't it?

Murder.

Josh Brent.

Technically manslaughter against his teammate, but some circumstances see it as murder.

Either way you catch my drift.

Cowboys loaded up on defense this draft:

#60 - DE Randy Gregory of Nebraska - The best DE in the Big Ten in this draft class. He's the most physically gifted edge rusher in this class with outstanding first-step quickness and length, and surprising power. He'll need to get stronger against the run but he is a difference-maker as a pass-rusher

#163 - DE Ryan Russell of Purdue (6-4/270) - The second-best DE in the Big Ten in this draft class per the BTN...a team captain who has an excellent blend of height, weight, length and top-end speed for a base 4-3 left defensive. One of the top DEs at the Combine in 40-yard dash, bench (upper body strength) and broad jump (lower body strength). He's also capable of kicking inside to rush the passer and lining up at defensive end in a base one-gap 3-4 scheme. Tremendous upside.

UDFA - DT Chucky Hunter of TCU - Three-Time All-Big 12 Second Team. Undersized (6-0/295), but has speed & quickness and is as powerful as an ox. One of the big names in college football that was stunningly not invited to the Combine (others included OG Shaq Mason, QB Rakeem Kato, QB/ATH Devin Gardner, etc)

#127 - LB Damien Wilson of Minnesota (6-0/245) - The second-best ILB in the Big Ten in this draft class per the BTN...10.5 TFL and 119 tackles last season...has an above-average blend of height, weight, length and top-end speed (Top 25% of ILBs in five categories at the Combine). His range against the run is the first thing that stands out on tape. He's an instinctive run defender with the quickness to beat backs to the edge, he's above average at slipping blocks on the move and his motor is almost always running at a high level. Wilson also gets good depth and covers enough ground to hold up in zone.

#236 - OLB/SS Mark Nzeocha of Wyoming (6-2/232) - a German native and former high school rugby and football player who played four years at Wyoming and was the best player and best playmaker on their defense. Flies around the field with good range, good speed and good instincts. A versatile player who has spent time at linebacker and safety. Coming of a season-ending torn ACL

#27 - CB/FS Byron Jones of UConn - ridiculous freak athlete who allowed a passer rating of just 26.3 in coverage in 2014, the lowest of any CB in this draft class.

UDFA CB/FS Joel Ross - 5-10/182 with 4.43 speed. 2nd Team All-Conference (Coaches). Wants to be a police officer if his NFL career doesn’t work out

UDFA CB/FS Tim Scott of UNC - honorable mention All-ACC, led team in tackles last year

UDFA SS Ray Vinopal of Pitt - 2nd highest # of 225 bench reps and 4th-best 40 yard dash of safeties. Wonderlic score of 37. Working toward his MBA, entered MBA school last fall. Earned two degrees in 2014: one in business finance, one in supply chain management. Four-time conference All-Academic selection, two-time All-ACC honorable mention at S

I noticed when Coach Rivera first came in that he made it a point of signing players with excellent character traits and good work ethic and a high desire to do whatever it took. They're not all still here but that's still the type of player we sign. And I like it. As a fan, I can appreciate that it's more than football skills that are considered. Seems Panther players feel the same way & that's not a bad thing. A football family with an extreme desire to win, that's what we have with the Panthers.

What do you guys think of how the Dallas Cowboys are building their team? I don't know if I've ever witnessed a team have so many players that abuse drugs, beat women, and murder at the same time.

Do you think the payoff of drafting players with a high chance of being suspended, that are not smart n and have questionable morals is worth it? A majority of the listed players have loads of talent.

Personally, I hate the concept. I don't think I would be comfortable winning in such a way. It just makes me happier knowing that the Panthers are in the upswing without having to acquire the players with questionable character.

What are your feelings on the subject?

There's no need to go all Rae Carruth here. Dallas has never, in it's history, had a case where a player was convicted of anything close to him. Even with guys on the team in the 90's who had questionable character, they still mananged 3 SBs.

.....Stones, glass house maybe?
