Six Teams not including us called for the Rams 41st pick

Recommended Posts

basically what that means is that Jeff Fisher thinks we were retarded to trade up, when we could have stayed at #57 and kept our #89 and #201 picks. Had we done that, we could have gone:

#57 - Jaelen Strong or Sammie Coates

#89 - Justin Hardy, Jamison Crowder, Rashad Greene, Stefon Diggs or Kenny Bell

#201 - Tre McBride or Dezmin Lewis (6-4/214 with 4.46 forty)

Wouldn't 3 WR prospects be better than one?

and we wouldn't have had to go WR at all 3 of those picks if we didn't want to.

DG said we had a 1st round grade on him, so no, having a 1st rounder (his board) is better than the 3 spots you mentioned.

Let's be honest here about our roster.  It's getting better, I don't think 7 picks would have made the roster this year, much less 9.

I can't believe people are still raging about the trade up to acquire him.

We had 9 total picks in this years draft. We were not going to draft 9 starters. Gettleman himself talked about this.

Plus, key factor here, we did not give up any picks from future years. We have all next years picks.

Not when the person you trade up for has a round 1 grade in your mind and those dont.

This!! People need to realize the better and more stacked your team gets than the harder its going to get year after year to draft and keep 7 players. In my opinion we aren't in rebuild mode anymore. We have a ton of talent on this team, so much so infact I dont see how we afford to keep all of them.

If you are a talent starved team like the Jags or Browns among other teams then yes you need all the draft picks you can get, we aren't the 2010, 2011 or 2012 Panthers anymore, we have our superstar core players already, the better you get as a team the less holes you have to fill.

So when you cross over from the rebuilding phase to the perennial contender phase (which I like to think we have) then getting only a few really good players instead of several players is more beneficial to us.

Very true indeed

We didn't have "a bunch of guys we rated all the same". We had one guy we wanted, and we got him. That's it.

(Fisher is a douchebag who coaches dirty play anyway)

I wanted Hardy, yup my bias :), but I am thrilled we drafted Devin. He is the opposite of KB in terms of traits, excellent compliment.

Didn't DG say in his press conference that night that we had 5 or so players that we wanted in the second, but they started coming off the board quick so they decided to move up to make sure they got one?
