Cam needs to step up this year

Recommended Posts

Probably unlike most of the huddle, I am not 100% sure Cam can lead us to a Superbowl win or become that great QB we hope and expected him to be. He has been inconsistent since coming into the league.

Yes, he has had some significant limitations (OL and OC) but OL should be much improved this year.

I would like to be able to see him with an actual OC who has produced top 10 offenses but unfortunately, I do not see Shula getting fired due to our defense keeping all the games close. I hope I am wrong on that.

So, Cam has to take that next step WITH Shula. As of right now, I am weary of investing the farm on a guy that is as inconsistent as Cam.

WHY does everyone keep saying that OL should be much improved this year??? We didn't draft an OT that can start, we signed the blindside, who has been dropped by 2 teams in 2 years. You know the problem. Fix it.

PS: I still do agree that Cam needs work when he does get time to throw. Really hoping that he hasn't capped on his ability.

Since you use the talent to throw to as a reason.  Would you say Russel Wilson is better than him then?  Because Russel had a bunch of undrafted free agents to throw to before he got Jimmy.

seattle doesn't run a coryell variant and they don't need a dominant vertical threat for the system they run

their offensive talent is extremely well suited to the west coast concepts in their passing offense.  the seahawks' passing attack is just built differently than ours is and the comparison has never made sense to me.  they actually had the fewest pass attempts in the league last season.

He was last year.  His top WR's were Baldwin and Kearse......and BOTH were UDFA.

The implication behind referring to them as UDFA's is that they aren't very good. Which is horse poo.

Honestly, watching Marshawn Lynch in that offense just shows how much a monster that guy is.

I been saying all you said for a while. :goodjob:

And Seattle's been amongst the lowest pass attempts in the NFL period, since drafting Wilson. Not just last year (as you probably know).

Nonetheless, some want us to believe the offense revolves around Wilson, instead of Skittles despite this reality.

And before people mention, Cam after Shula; keep in mind: 1)The Panther threw the ball almost 55% of the time, Newton's first 2 years.

2) Newton's never had a consistent run threat since his arrival, with the exception of Stewart during a certain stretch last year. So many times, the defense was stacked against Cam throwing or running the ball, and no one else.

So the offense, started with Newton and no one else.

I don't see how anyone could argue that Cam is 99.999% of our offense.

How many other teams can even say that? Let alone win back to back division titles and make the playoffs?

Wilson just isnt asked to do everything, hes asked to do what hes good at and only that.

Cam is forced to win games and in this league you just cant ask a guy to do that consistently.
