La'El Collins may be in play after all

Bill Voth is an annoying @sshole. If I were Collins and ended up in Carolina I would never answer a single thing Voth asks. Seriously, calling someone the next Rae Carruth because he's being QUESTIONED about a murder is flat out messed up. That is very unethical and tacky "journalism".

Also, Voth debated with me on multiple occasions last year when I said Byron Bell wasn't a good football player. Seriously, this guy has no idea what's going on.

This was in reply to Gabe King...

@Gabeking it’s valid. it’s also about a guy people have continuosly asked about since mid-week. and 2 people are dead. and he may …

I don't think he's dismissing the idea.  I think he's just tired of being asked about it when nothing is really known yet.

Thanks I didn't see that on the feed on his website.

When did he call La'el "the next Rae Carruth?"

Voth didn't say that.  This guy did in response to him...

Not going through days worth of his tweets but two quick ones that don't explicitly state it but point towards what he's thinking...

Still getting questions about La'El Collins. Of all 32 teams that likely won't touch him, the most obvious has Rae Carruth in its history.

Not sure if the connection slips a few minds, if others just don't know what happened or if some simply don't care.

He has many more in response to other people.

i follow voth and the closest thing I have seen was him saying that we may have some new fans who don't remember 15 years ago and that is why wee won't draft collins. I think he was talking about the situation with Carruth not saying Collins was another carruth. Thats how I took anyway.

Didn't mean to make this about Voth. Just pointing out that he has no idea what he's talking about. He has good articles every once in a while but it's clear that when it comes to talent evaluation and guessing what the FO is thinking, he has absolutely no clue. Take he what he says with a HUGE grain of salt.

He's been saying since the situation started that the Panthers won't touch him because they don't want "the next Rae Carruth" or "another Rae Carruth".

Gotcha, but I still don't quite interpret it that way.

He isn't saying that's what it is at this point.  He's saying that's what they would want to avoid in case it becomes that.  Hence, caution until more is known.

But in response to another tweet earlier, Voth said the talk of him being signed here is a valid discussion.  Just one that he happens to be tired of being asked about (and given that there's nothing really known yet, i can kind of see that).

Your opinion about Voth is your own, of course.  But I think this discussion has been misunderstood.

Either way, putting Collins in the same sentence as Carruth is absolutely tacky and unethical journalism. He's being questioned and has been explicitly stated as being "not a suspect".

That is like saying anyone whose friend is murdered might be the next Aaron Hernandez. It's just a lack of respect for the system and the person.

But again...didn't want to make this about Voth.
