La'El Collins may be in play after all

He would play guard for the Saints. He's said through the whole process he doesn't care where he plays. He'd be the starter at LG almost immediately.

The contract would be one thing to look at. Saints pay their guards like tackles though, so you never know.

That's interesting, so it might come down to his best friend and a new start versus staying lose to home.

Do the Saints have any close personal connections to Collins?

Also Collins was probably coached to say what teams want to hear, he may have a personal preference on where he wants to play.

We've seen that his agent is quite the character, so coaching Collins what to say doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities.

If he is nothing to do of the homicide then if I was him, I would get away from that shithole place and join a playoff team that possesses my old teammate and is a world-class organization unlike Toilet Dome near where my chance of early big bucks were destroyed.

Personal ties? Not that I know of. I know they were very high on him. He said he'd love to play at home. He grew up in Baton Rouge and his whole family lives there. That's why he chose LSU.

I'm sure he was coached what to say.

You should tweet him and tell him about the shithole he grew up in.

It's hard to say what will happen...

This is something that is unprecedented and I doubt will happen again in the near future.

This may turn into a college style recruiting event, something Louisiana has already won with Collins going to LSU.

It's too close to call in my opinion, I can see both happening but I don't see other teams besides New Orleans and Carolina having as good of a shot.
