Fortunately, random Internet guys have access to something called the combine. He ran twice and his best official time was 4.7. I watched him multiple times throughout his Michigan career, and 4.6-4.7 is about what I would expect.

Regardless, as big as he is, there is huge difference between a guy his size running a 4.47 (on a pro day lol) and a guy, say like Ginn's size, that runs a 4.3, is quick, and can consistently catch the ball.

He had a toe issue this offseason that's all checked out now.  I'm sure that effected the time because everywhere outside the combine people say he's around a 4.5.  And I can't really say I could tell you the difference with my naked eye between a 4.5er and 4.6er but he seems like an athletic strider, not a speed guy but has really good get-up for his size in games.

Just seems like a very good fit for Cam & Company which is the most important thing.  We seemed to have the other receivers lower on another horizontal compared to him and outside of that and he was a clear sole remaining 1st rounder at WR we graded so it made it easy for DG.

From the presser, it looks like we had a late 1st rounder horizontal something like:

1 early] ?

1 mid] ?

1 late]   DJ Humphries   |   Shaq Thompson   |   Landon Collins   |   Preston Smith   |   Devin Smith   |   Devin Funchess

2 early] ?

When 40 came, our value chart probably made it reasonable to trade up for a guy grading as a 1st so they made the call.

My bad

I thought you were thinking it was the WR. I wasn't sure why anyone would be upset we didn't get the CB. He's decent at best.

I had him mocked to us in the fourth or fifth. He's one of the top rated UDFA's.

I'm not thrilled the Falcons seem to be doing so well this draft.

For those interested in more info on Peters. Guy absolutely had draft able senior film. Was not drafted because that was his only year with draft able film. Was not committed to working hard enough to start at Clemson until after his junior year. Was in Clemson's dog house because of the lack of effort. Finally matured and put it all together and it showed his senior season. Had a really good year and was thrown at a ton, because of the guy opposite him that you will come to know very well in next years draft. Mackensie Alexander will be a stud in the league. He is a tad small to play outside for our system, but is not afraid to mix it up. Will more than likely get most of his work at nickel. If he has stayed committed after his time at Clemson, he has a very real chance to make this team.
