So, gettleman said we need speed at WR.

We signed Ginn, Boykin, and drafted Funchess.

And Damiere Byrd

But, I mean, then you'd lack a reason to complain if you acknowledged that.

Signed Damiere Byrd. Ran a 4.26 electronically timed 40 coming out of high school.

His speed is exciting, but as with most guys with that kind of speed, the hands are a question.

I just wish we had prioritized a guy with speed and hands in free agency or early in the draft. So far though, Byrd is my favorite UDFA.

Don't know anything about him other than what I've read on NFL.com. Would love for a UDFA SS to work out for us. What do you know about him?

Decent speed, good tackler, needs some work with his coverage technique. He got beat on a few deep passes, but JMU really didn't have much help to give him either.

The word out on him was with some coaching he could make a roster spot.

Nope, just forgot. But good thing I have plenty of giant sloths to hold me over!

So you're still convinced Funchess can't run even though both Getts and Ron went on and on about his speed.

Fortunately, random Internet guys have access to something called the combine. He ran twice and his best official time was 4.7. I watched him multiple times throughout his Michigan career, and 4.6-4.7 is about what I would expect.

Regardless, as big as he is, there is huge difference between a guy his size running a 4.47 (on a pro day lol) and a guy, say like Ginn's size, that runs a 4.3, is quick, and can consistently catch the ball.
