DGB was never in play for the Panthers

The Carolina Panthers never had DGB as a targeted player on their board. Funchess on the other hand was rated a first rounder and highly coveted. So all of the DGB fans can put your mind at ease, he was never coming to the Panthers to begin with. Also, obviously all of the first round rated players the Panthers had are now off the board. (Preston Smith cam close to being a Panther). Predicting rounds 4-7 are a crap shoot.

In the press conference last night, Gettleman explained he moved up because he had 5 players on his board they really wanted and the way the second round was going, he didn't think they'd be there by the time the 57th pick came around. We now know one of them was Funchess and I guess Preston Smith was another. Any idea who the other three guys were?

Thanks to Ray Rice you mean. After that, even if you're innocent you're guilty in the NFL. An accusation is enough. (Not that I necessarily think DGB was innocent, I didn't follow or research his incident enough to have an opinion.)

in regards to the Panthers, i.e. Jerry Richardson, it's cause of the embarrassment and shame that Greg Hardy brought onto the organization, and how Hardy continued to carry himself.

Blame Ray Rice all you want to, but it was Greg Hardy that wore out hus welcome with the Panthers.
