Panthers trade up to 9th pick of second round - select Devin Funchess

Do we have to have speedsters at every WR spot on the roster? Ted Ginn being our fastest receiver was good enough to go 12-4 in 2013 and I think Corey Brown can be a very reliable burner this season.

Offensive line is still a concern and I can understand why someone would complain about that not having been addressed yet. But getting a very fast receiver is just not a priority for this team with the way the roster is currently comprised. We're good enough there.

Not all but when your speed is a undrafted guy made of glass and a older player with suspect hands then it is an issue. This sounds like people defending gettleman last year saying bell and chandler will be enough.

He doesn't have the hands of Jeffrey not even close and Jimmy super soft. If you're going trade up in the 2nd, get Fisher to protect Cam or Devin Smith who has what a 39 inch vertical, very fast and is made for the deep ball. One thing we needed last season was SPEED, more of it.

Smith was already gone man,...hey maybe you're right and he's the worst thing to happen to us since Clausen...it just seems too early for that and I have a hard time believing Gettleman whiffed that bad seeing as he was a scout for decades..we shall see

It takes a while to see what Gettlemen is doing.  When it comes into focus, you feel a lot better.

I hated the pick at first--wanted Fisher.  However, Funchess is the #2 WR we have needed for a while; Fisher would have ridden the pine.  Funchess is simply not the type of WR we expected--everyone wanted that "deep threat", as if Ginn, Brown, and Hill can't do that.

Rotoworld hates the pick

They just had to end with a dig at Cam of course. They just lost all credibility when they showed their negative bias. Probably a Saints fan who wrote that garbage LOL.

Brown gets hurt on every other catch and is still a huge question mark. Ginn is two years older and has ALWAYS been a question mark. He also has suspect hands but I'm happy we have somebody with speed at least. Neither are REAL answers.

...cant have the top player in every position because its financially impossible... I like the blend we have on offence... if we can get an Olineman worth a damn on the left side i'll be feeling real good and the draft isn't the only place to get one...
