Carlton Bailey had that number on the 95 team.  More recently belonged to Will Witherspoon and Jason Williams.

 

Witherspoon was likely the best LB to wear it to this point.

Listed positions, especially on defense, are becoming close to useless. He's got a LB number because in the base 4-3 look he'll be a LB. In the 60% of the time that we won't be in the base, he'll be in that bandit role doing whatever the hell he's needed to do including playing safety.

Was hoping he'd be in the 40s given the likelihood he'll be a LB/DB hybrid.

I get that, but there are many people on here clamoring that we will "convert" him to safety.  Being #54 prevents that from happening unless he changes numbers.
