All you seen was how Gettleman drafts when players like Star and KB don't fall into his lap. Last night was the first first round where a really good player didn't fall to him and he blew it.

What if some freak accident happens and Keek or Davis get Injured? Now what? Oh Wait, we have a top notch LB to take the spot now. When Davis retires in 2-4 years, we now have  a replacement with experience. Also, we have WR weapons at this time, just need work on OL. Im sure next year, there will be plently of OL and WR to choose from. Im sure most of you didnt think KB was a great pick either.

I felt that Byron Jones could of been BPA as well. Idk if he is being over hyped because of his record breaking combine so I feel good with the pick. I just have to wonder will Shaq be a OLB or safety? If he does become a safety can he be a free safety?

That's not attitude. It's being knowledgeable. The posters that are screaming "well Gettleman better go offense these next 2 picks!!" have attitude. Attitude comes from stupidity, and I don't deal with stupid people.

 

 

It's both.  I acknowledged that he has the in with certain brass, no complaints there.  And I think many posters were ready for something like this to happen and don't see a crazy amount of overreaction.  Just saying to tone it down with the, "Yep, my inside sources are right" deal.  I never criticized in the build up...I make threads titled "Cheese Goggles"/  Just don't find a need for an overflow of these type of threads.

you ask 32 GMs who the BPA at #25 was and you're not going to get an agreement on who that was. But as much as Gettleman preaches BPA, even taking BPA when it makes him look "brain damaged," yes, Shaq was Gettlemen's BPA. Would other GMs disagree? Of course. Would people in our own scouting department disagree? Of course. Will others like you, other fans, people in the media, etc disagree? Of course. But it was Gettlemen's call, and he took his BPA, not yours or anybody elses that disagreed with him that Shaq was the BPA at #25.

 

Long winded version of "he picked who he thought was best" which applies to literally every GM and why I'm starting to hate BPA as a term.

So I guess we should have taken a kicker just in case Gano goes down. A WR ot OL doesn't need to go down for those osition groups to be in trouble.

It seems there were many people who speculated that Shaq would be the pick before the draft. 

 

Shaq was given the "tweener" label early in this process and slid down boards as a result.  I think he can live up to the billing.  Working beside Luke and TD will make him tremendously better. 

 

Remember when Gettlemen talked about improving team speed?  We have the fastest LB corps in football now.

Collins may not get drafted at all, by anybody, and it's pretty stupid to bash the Panthers about it. I'd be pretty pissed if we started distracting ourselves with trying to prove 1 guy's innocence during the most important week of the offseason.

Get the draft right, worry about Collins when he's ruled out as a suspect by the police.

 

Who is bashing? I just (rightly) pointed out that there is a minuscule chance of the Panthers drafting him, given the owner's philosophies and the past indiscretions of Panthers' players. He very well may go undrafted, but talent wins out in the end and if another tackle-needy team in the middle rounds can talk themselves into the kid, he'll be gone. I am sure Carolina and other teams have tried to do due diligence on Collins. These are billion-dollar enterprises; they can afford to have people look into it. The world does not stop turning because it's draft week.

The fact that most Panther fans think Shaq was not the BPA gives me confidence that Shaq was indeed the BPA.

I was most surprised that Gett didn't jump a few spots to get Humphries.  Everybody knew AZ was looking at OT and the last probable starter at LT was still on the board.

every pick from 20 to 50 was graded the same.

Per league sources, NFL Draft has 16-19 top players; "20th pick same as 50th pick"

It gets dicey trying to figure out who the BPA is from that group and you're going to get a ton of disagreement on who it is. That is why each team decides on 1 person beforehand to make the final call. Those guys are called GMs.
