Elite athlete. Ignore the combine and look at the tape. Instinctive player who can do just about anything you ask. Hes a sideline to sideline playmaker who can cover and plays well in space. People are saying "more athletic LaVonte David." If he ends up anywhere near that we've nailed it in the first yet again. My 2 cents..

You skipped the 7 game losing streak in between, pulling out a division championship because we were the best of all the sub-. 500 teams in it, and the multiple losses where our QB was getting demolished because he had no open receivers to throw the ball too.

I played football at every level except college and pro. In my obvious experienced opinion, I don't really care for the pick right now. I'd have rather reached for a WR than a LB.

 

In the interest of full disclosure, I didn't care for the TD pick. I wanted Derrick Johnson. I didn't care for the Beason pick because I had not heard a lot about him. I did like the Luke pick because I could tell he was a beast in college.

 

Basically I'm just an average fan who doesn't know poo, so I'm going to trust that GMan knows what he is doing. And so far he has shown that he does.

With all the BPA talk I think the need aspect of this pick is being devalued somewhat.

For a casual fan, such as myself, it is easy to look at OT and receiver and see need but for the coaching staff I think this pick might address some other needs that might not be as easily noticeable.

From RR and DG's press conference it seems like Shaq's skill set will allow us some scheme flexibility that we have not had in the past. If this alone increases our chances of beating the better teams in the league this could turn out to be a very good pick.

Not really much of an opinion on the pick from me. Just going to trust Gettleman since he has yet to really fail us in drafting. I will probably have some strong opinions in the 2nd & 3rd rounds though, because there are some guys I really like and I would hate us to pass on if they are available at our picks
