I remember everyone being really confused when Seattle took Bruce Irvin a couple years back. Seemed to work out OK .

 

along the same lines, i remember when that team from Carolina took a linebacker in the first round when they already had two studs on the roster. seemed to work out pretty well for them.

Long winded version of "he picked who he thought was best" which applies to literally every GM and why I'm starting to hate BPA as a term.

 

I've never liked it. It means fuging nothing. There are 22 offense and defense positions, sometimes it makes sense to you know, fill holes you need and not take the so called "bpa". The draft is full of meaningless corporate speak and feel good horseshit.

Everyone complaining that we didn't take a OT (which I deeply wanted too) don't realize that there were No OTs left on the board at 25. DJ Humphries was just taken off the board (I wanted him and after watching the post-1st round conference, I think DG really wanted him too). But there wasn't a first round talented OT left at all.

My main complaint is: if we had Humphries rated that highly, we should have gone up and got him. Everybody and their mother knew AZ was taking him. Disappointed we didn't move ahead of Det. bc this would have been the year to trade up.

Dude, nobody has to "point out" complainers on the Huddle, they stand out very well on their own. Honestly I think many of the complainers here, we're hoping we would draft defensive player. They already had their keyboards cocked and loaded with they're not so witty comments about Cam leaving and Gettlemen sucking.
