Who would you have picked - Round 1

Face it, there were no standout players there on offense.

Randall or Dorsett, both ranked as early second rounders are who I would have opted for simply because Shaq is a hybrid and I cannot envision how we would use him.  Our coaching staff obviously knows how they are going to use him and see him as a great asset.

In the second, WR, OT, and even another surprise like Maxx Williams can all help our team

I'm a huge Devin Smith & Jake Fisher fan. That being said, this draft fell the worst way possible for us.

Flowers @ 9

Peat @ 13

Agholor @ 20

The deal breaker was Arizona at #24 - DJ Humphries. I think if Hump is there, we aren't even having the Shaq conversation this morning.

That being said, Thompson's talent is incredible and I love the foresight to think beyond the coming season.

I honestly have no idea.  When Humphries went I was like "Landon is a Panther" but that's not necessarily who I wanted.

I picked Peat in my only mock because of his potential but if he busts, he could be Bell/Oher bad if he doesn't translate well to the big leagues.  I'm happy he's with NO...hope Ealy demolishes the guy.

The main crybabies always manage to avoid going on the record for who they would have picked. They'll pipe in about 3/4 of the way through the season if some one that got drafted after Shaq is balling out (even if Shaq proves to be an absolute game changer)

Just because it's sequential: you calling me a crybaby? haha

I don't think I complain too much here during the reg seasons.

I love Dorsett and was extremely excited watching his tape but nobody realizes he wasn't hyped up into the 1st round until very very recently. He was overdrafted plain and simple. Devin Smith is a better prospect overall, as he has slightly slower speed, albeit extremely fast still, good body control, can adjust to the ball while its in the air, he has enough size to fight for a ball if needed, and he has more experience finding success in mid range routes rather than just depending on go routes with no deep coverage to score.

Shaq was absolutely BPA where we were picking, though the pick would have been Humphries if Arizona didn't take him. Apparently everyone complaining about our pick missed Gettleman's press conference tuesday where he said he had about 4 OT he thought would make an impact, and he wasn't going to reach to take one if it came down to it. We will take an OT and a receiver or 2 before this is all said and done. The draft isn't won on the first night anyways. It never has been.

That was definitely not directed at you.

I'm not going on the record either because I haven't a clue who would have been better at 25...but I'm also not bitching about the pick like it's the end of the world either.

Haha cool cool.  Yeah I always just try to stay cautiously optimistic during the offseason.  It's so crazy how things turn out sometimes.

    • Soooo many bad turnovers again. Luckily Martin played well.
    • Yes. Cade 100% tripped and pitched it to Mafah.  That’s not in dispute.  We agree on that.  Mafah got the ball, fell to the ground and then attempted to complete the rest of the play….which was the lateral to the WR on the end around.  You are calling the lateral from Mafah to the end around WR the ball popping up.   It was whistled dead.   Then they ran another play.  the review then awarded the ball to SC after we ran another play for what happened after a play was whistled dead.   How does that part work lol?  How do you recover a ball if a play was whistled dead for a downed player prior to a recovery?  I think the refs screwed Clemson twice.   That’s not why they lost.  Please don’t think that is my argument.   They lost because Cade chocked and panicked at the end.  They lost because Sellers should have been put on the ground for a loss countless times and they didn’t.  They lost because our over loyal Dabo wouldn’t bench his favorite hurt RB.    Clemson lost for lots of reasons. SC deserved to win.  Those calls were bad though IMO.  They exist in every game.
    • I can’t recall an NBA team with this many injuries.  It’s getting absurd at this point
