It should be pointed out amidst the tweets and headlines, La'el

Collins is NOT a suspect according to BRPD. Worth noting.

If it turns out that this is poor communication by the cops, I'd be furious if I were Collins.

I don't know how $$$ goes in supplemental, but I assume if there are a ton of teams taking him off their board or not thinking of drafting him until late, he would probably rather go in the supplemental at a 3rd rounder salary then to be a late round pick or an UDFA.

He'd get paid the same amount as the team's original draft slot in the round he was taken. Say we claim him for a second in the supplemental draft, he and our pick at 57 would make the same amount.

I thought he was ruled not a suspect? Someone will draft him anyways, so i don't get why he wants out.

Because he could get picked in the 7th round instead of the 2nd round of the supp draft. thats a couple million smackers

Lot of reports saying if no more information comes out that he won't get drafted. Honestly, if no more information comes out and he's sitting there any time after the 3rd I'd be pissed if we didn't take him. 3rd is still a little too risky for me.

Tommorrows headline. Police ruin another black mans life.

It's really not that funny. I mean, this kid is going into the draft to be a first rounder, and his alleged baby momma (from reading articles online surrounding this) was killed. Then the police request that he leave the draft and return to Louisiana for questioning; although not "a suspect". So the kid leaves the draft, gets back and the same police that requested his presence are now "not ready" to speak with him.

I'm presuming that the kid is innocent, and if he is, that is a tough pill to swallow for a kid to be robbed of for no reason. Presuming his innocence he was robbed of the draft experience and the realization of his life long dream. That's just BS in my opinion.

Who knows the relationship he had with this girl, but she's now passed on, there's a child struggling to hang on that will now grow up without a mother, and if it's true (that he's the father) and that he's innocent and had nothing to do with this, then the whole situation is just crap.

That’s exactly what Collins is trying to do.  No matter the reason, Collins is electing to bypass a draft for which he is eligible and applying for selection in a supplemental draft.

Whats the most disappointing is the fact we have one less OT in the draft meaning lower tackles will be drafted earlier and screw us.

Multiple teams have removed LSU's OL La'el Collins from their draft board. In one week, has gone from potential 1 to off some boards.
