Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select Shaq Thompson

Jeremy Igo

Head scratcher? TD is 32, and this guy is 100% the same mold, but arguably more athletic. Probably the closest we'll see to his replacement for years.

I doubt it but we will see no doubt he has talent but a faster WR who could stretch the field will fit better with getting past Seattle than another LB at our strongest position. Just agree to disagree and when the offense is struggling to move the ball against because no WR can break the coverage deep we will all be like WTF.

Some of you really like to think DG is somehow trying to screw cam over? Really?.......Really?

George Bush flew the planes into the towers too right?

There are a ton of wrs, rbs, and ots left in this draft all who can come in and make an impact just like shaq will do....yall need to relax and cheer on your team, not bash every move from your couch.

Sorry, done now.

I'm all for complaining, but when you have a GM that has nailed the past two drafts it's difficult to be less than optimistic.

The guy I wanted was taken at 24, right before us, so I'm not mad.

I think the guy will be pretty good for us, a play maker. I like it.

Of course we better freaking go offense the next 2 rounds and lord help us, get some ot help in here. But I DO like this pick a lot. LB is a serious need despite what others may think

colts fans discuss luck's latest weapon:

Let me put it another way. Has Grigson ever been right?

Do you seriously think Dorsett is a "can't miss talent"? At the bottom of the first round, as the sixth reciever picked this year? So what if Andre only lasts a couple of years. There are good, proven players available in FA each year, and there are still a good draft class next year.

If Dorsett is really "that good", why did he slide to 29? Why is Grigson the only one "who got it" with regards to Dorsett?

Perhaps he really is the Yoda of talent evaluations. The force wasn't there for a looooong time, but he found it in time to pick up Dorsett ahead of "everyone else". I'm betting The Hoodie is kicking himself right now because he got Brown and not Dorsett.

You're one of those guys on this board, who will defend any decision Grigson makes, no matter what.

gee why does that sound familiar

Everyone is laughing at us again

We already have TY, is he slow? Wr was a terrible choice in the first. Also, why did we sign Andre and Carter if we were gonna draft a wide out first? We can only play so many wrs...

And I'll call nonsense on that. There's no * way Dorsett is BPA, unless every other pundit in the world is way off, and Grigson is the Yoda of talent evaluation, and I have my doubts about that based on previous drafts.

And even if you pick BPA, there will be some position(s) that you would probably still not pick at, because that's where you have plenty of talent. You wouldn't pick a QB if he was BPA, would you? Why pick a WR, when you're already loaded?

Especially when there are higher graded players at positions you're not well set at, like DL, OL and S, and there was.

But hey, why not let the Patriots pick up Malcolm Brown.. The Hoodie is of course completely clueless, right?

That's the difference between multiple championships and just knocking on the door. Now I'm going to bed *. Eat it grigs

I want to be a Patriots fan.

I KNEW IT. I HATE NEW ENGLAND. I HATE RYAN GRIGSON

Idc about BPA. This will not close our gap with New England. We have zero need at receiver.

We got young guys developing like Brown and Benji. We brought an over the top threat back in Ginn.

Draft isn't over either.

Our WRS will hopefully get better just because of experience. Ginn opens up a lot.

We should be fine.

#2 WR is still a legitimate concern moving forward.

I'm fine with our pick. But people have quickly forgotten those 6 blowout losses early last season where our offense struggled mightily at times.

It's not going to magically solve itself. We need firepower if we want to beat the best of the NFC (Seahawks). With 8 more picks I'm hoping we can work something out.

I wouldn't think of Perriman and Dorsett as "second tier WRs". Both of them were off the board by pick 29.

This is just a fact that many just don't comprehend. Defense puts you in the position to win championships. Look at the last couple Super Bowl champs. Unless you have an ungodly talent at QB like Brady and Rodgers who can make any receiver and oline look good, you need the super strong defense to win it all (see ravens, Seahawks, and giants).

I'm all for getting Cam help but not if that means picking a tier two receiver just because that's what the masses want.

So... you think the draft is over, or a 1st round WR is the only one that can be a great WR for us?

I was ok with this pick....then I watched his highlights. Wow. We have to give him some shots as a running back. He's a game changer.

if we stick him at RB i will rage so fuging hard

fug that

I just learn to accept that the Carolina Panthers are the New York Jets with a good quarterback. We will get to the playoffs and fall short. People will wonder why, and then go on blaming Cam. Seattle and New England can afford to skimp on offense because of the coaching talent they have on offense. We don't have that.
