Collins is an Alabama player from Saban's system. You know what that means. His ceiling is pretty damn low.

Not always true. CJ Mosley was a stud in his rookie year making the pro bowl and Haha Clinton-Dix was very solid as well. Dont'a Hightower has also been extremely good and Marcel Dareus is an all pro. Kareem Jackson is a very good CB.

Milliner, Kirkpatrick, and Barron were busts though. Rolando McClain was one too but that's more because he's a dumbass. He's good when he has his crap together.

5 of the 9 1st round picks from Alabama's defense during Saban's tenure have been very good.

Collins isn't a first round S? interesting...

He's constantly out of position in coverage.  I honestly think his best fit is as a 4-3 weakside OLB.  His tackling form is pretty bad too.  He kind of just hits guys and throws them and expects them to just fall over.  It works in college, but I'm not so certain it will in the NFL.

Out of the guys who are often talked about as possibilities for us at #25, he may be the one I least want.

Again everyone saying there are only 16 first rounders in this years draft. Which means more than likely (we really don't know but can assume) they will be gone by our pick.

Then why they hell not pick Shaq since all the first rounders are gone. And if he is considered second round talent he is considered second round talent with about 45 other guys.

Get the guy you want and can contribute right away.

True BUT Collins is horrible in coverage and always out of position. I just don't see the room for growth with Landon. He's your typical box safety. Therefore, I don't see the value in him at 25. We're better off taking Gurley or Strong if either one is there for us.

As is I don't think Collins is worthy of a 1st round pick. What a team needs to do is go back and evaluate his coverage from 2013 when he weighed 215 then try to project that to the NFL or keep him at 230 and move him to WLB. I do agree he is not a 1st rounder or a fit for us as a 230 lb SS.

Damn nice write up in the link.

After reading that I definitely don't want the Falcons taking Shane Ray.

They probably will if he is there. Quinn will be upgrading the defense perhaps with most of their picks. Offense has not ben the problem for Atlanta so much as the defense. They will pick a running back at some point- likely day 2 pr 3. But if Gregory is there And with Rays red flags Quinn could be looking for his version of the beast. ACL versus drug charge. Take your pick...I would think that Gregory might be the only player that might intrigue him away from defense.

Tomorrow night is going to get weird.

Just saw a tweet saying Bryce Petty could even jump into the late 1st/early 2nd. TD just had a picture with DGB saying "next Panthers pick?" or something to that extent (No). The Browns may be dumb enough to give up 3 1st round picks for #2. Lots of crazy to talk about tomorrow night.

Agree, there will be several teams who get creamed for picking guys in the first that mocks had going at #40-50, but in reality, are just as good if not better. People get stuck on mocks and forget that these guys have to compete with vets, not classmates.

Mayock has been saying the same thing but including QB as a weak class also except for the first 2 guys

His mock had several DB's going early.  He loved the Wake Forest kid.  Most of his OT's went in the mid twenties with us getting Clemmings.
