respected scout with great track record: no S, TE or ILB has a 1st R grade

also goes along with this thread:

Per league sources, NFL Draft has 16-19 top players; "20th pick same as 50th pick"

the smaller amount of high-end talent in this draft makes it tougher on GMs, but fortunately Gettleman has assembled a top-notch scouting department and he knows which of our scouts to trust the most:

like the scout said:

"I love this draft, I absolutely love it," he said. "This is a scout's draft. If you are the average GM and you didn't go see these kids play a lot this year and you weren't watching film all year, you're screwed. You have to have watched the tape all season. You have to have really seen these kids, and there is no way you can find the time to watch all 12 games on them in the offseason. You have to have seen these players develop all year long to have the right track on them.

"This is my kind of a draft. Am I saying this group is loaded with Pro Bowlers? No. But there are some really good players who are going to go on the second and third day who, I'm telling you, are going to be better than a lot of kids who go on the first day. You just have to know where to find them."

No disagreement here.  There are a few intriguing safety prospects in this draft, but none that excite me at #25.  The TE class looks like hot trash.  Maybe the worst in recent memory.  Terrible year to need a TE.  I haven't paid much attention to the ILB class for obvious reasons.

Perfect angle to take, and so true. Guys like Rob Crisp and Andrew Donnell could end up surpassing the TJ Clemmings and Ereck Flowers of this draft, IMO. Same can be said at so many positions..... It's times like this that we should all be thankful for a GM like Gettleman.

Damn, I can't wait till tomorrow night!

The 16-19 players with a first round grade thing is a bit overplayed. I heard Polian on the radio say the average draft usually only has 22 or 23 players with a first round grade per team. Less than average but it's not some terrible draft at the top.
