Police seeking to question OT L. Collins in shooting death of pregnant woman

Gettleman shot his ex girlfriend days before the draft so that he could take him in the 2nd round. You people don't understand his commitment to winning.

But really, it's nice to see that the belief in innocent until proven guilty and due process is completely dead in this country.

The child is probably a big factor in where he'll go too. If it's his then you've got a rookie in the NFL which is already tough enough with a new born child that is probably going to have issues given the nature of its birth. Can he handle that? If he chooses to give it up for adoption is he going to regret that?

That's another evaluation you have to make and if you have questions about it then why not just take another guy you are sure about. Teams do have psych evals on all these guys so they at least have something to work with to make a decision but that's an unexpected thing that comes up late in the process and requires a quick decision on limited information. NFL teams don't like those.

These might be some cold hearted things to think about but they are questions NFL teams need to know the answer to before using a high draft pick on him.

His agent did say it was horrible timing in terms of them wanting him to come in to speak, but last I checked, his (allegedly) pregnant girlfriend was just murdered and his child lived... Don't know when a good time for that to happen is?

Like I said, he could very well be innocent, but this doesn't look good and it's the same way Carruth, Hernandez, and pretty much every other athlete involved in a murder case started.

If it is indeed his girlfriend and his child - and it wasn't him that did it - I imagine he has bigger things on his mind than the draft.

Of course, if he was involved, he's screwed.

Aside from the legal ramifications, I think this could end up hurting us a lot if he falls out of the first round which seems possible/likely at this point due to the risk and uncertainty.

I think it hurts us because now you take Collins out of the mix and you have other tackles going higher than they would have otherwise.  If the plan is to try and get a tackle in the first round, we could be screwed at that position.  Flowers will now probably be the first tackle taken, and likely in the top 10.  2 of Clemmings, Peat, and Humphries will probably go after that and before 25, if not all three.

Maybe its already been posted but I just heard schefter say that teams are telling him to not be surprised if he doesn't get drafted

Oh wow. If he doesn't get drafted at all that would be great for us. He would definetly come play with Trai. Assuming he is cleared

The NFL no longer works that way.  They are now the judge, jury and executioner when it comes to the players.
