Nikon D4 vs D7200 - Camera Nerd Post

Picked up a Nikon D7200 for sports shooting. Haven't purchased a DX sensor camera since my D300 back in 2008.

 

Well, took some sample shots from the D7200 with the 70-200mm 2.8 lens and compared them too the same shots from my D4 with 120-300mm 2.8 lens.

Conclusion: Well, look at the example below. The D7200 and the D4 both are roughly the same quality at 100% crop. But the D7200 has the longer reach due to crop sensor and double the megapixels as the D4.

 

This will make me rethink how I shoot sports. Would be so much easier to go lighter and hand hold the camera.

(just a test photo from across the street at about 30 yards)
