If you do research

I have.

you will find out that the human race has evolved to be plant eaters and have lost the enzyme that digest meat.

I haven't, because it's not true. It's a myth, easily disproved by actually eating meat and finding that it did indeed get digested, first by stomach acids and then by enzymes like pepsin and trypsin in the intestines. It's also a myth that the body takes days to digest meat.

You can be a healthy meat eater and an unhealthy vegan. Too much red meat, especially from grain fed animals shot up with lots of antibiotics and hormones, isn't good for you, but neither is a vegetarian or vegan diet if the person doesn't take great care to address the deficiencies they're left with, like vitamin B12 (over 90% of vegans don't get enough), creatine, carnosine, and DHA. It's also a myth (actually bad 60 yr. old research) that all saturated fat is bad for you. Cut it all out and your body can't even absorb calcium. Although you can get that necessary fat with plant based products like coconut oil, it comes with all meats.

What's best to eat and to avoid eating isn't as simplistic and black and white as many would make it.

This. A balanced diet, whatever it is, is key.

I have lost 80lbs in the past year and a half. At 5'4", that was 1/3 of my body weight. And I, literally, did not cut a single thing out of my diet.

Instead of denying myself things I enjoyed, I tried to include more healthy stuff. I still eat candy bars and drink soda, albeit less often. But, it was a natural transition, not a conscious one.

As someone who has always loved food, what made this work for me, was that it expanded my palette. In the last year, I have discovered so many fruits and veggies that I never knew I liked before.

Meat-eaters: have claws

Herbivores: no claws

Humans: no claws

Meat-eaters: have no skin pores and perspire through the tongue

Herbivores: perspire through skin pores

Humans: perspire through skin pores

Meat-eaters: have sharp front teeth for tearing, with no flat molar teeth for grinding

Herbivores: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Humans: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Meat-eaters: have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly

Herbivores: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Humans: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Meat-eaters: have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat

Herbivores: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Humans: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Meat-eaters: salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits.

Herbivores: well-developed salivary glands which are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits

Humans: well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits

Meat-eaters: have acid saliva with no enzyme ptyalin to pre-digest grains

Herbivores: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains

Humans: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains

Based on a chart by A.D. Andrews, Fit Food for Men, (Chicago: American Hygiene Society, 1970)

I don't believe you.  You will have to prove this point.

I'm also on the same diet, I don't eat red meat or pigs. Plants, grains, nuts and sea meat. The only thing I just can't break away from is chicken and eggs. It's so easy and so cheap and a quick protein source. The problem with getting all your protein, b vitamins and iron from the sea is expense. It is very expensive to eat that way...I would love to have Cams budget to be able to eat like that.

Just an FYI: swine is officially considered red meat. Some people don't know that.

I don't know why you'd want to give up chicken.

I did not know that...in any case chicken is very healthy compared to cow, pig, lamb etc.

If you're vegan and not getting the vitamins from what I listed above from sea food you're buying things like tofu and seiten....and buying and eating a poo ton of it. I personally have a budget of $6-$8 a day for food. Given you need roughly a 2,500 calorie a day diet mixed with nuts, plants, sea life and tofu/seiten/replacement vegan food.

My budget would need to double, and I'd probably lose muscle and weight and I'm already slightly underweight. Going vegan is not easy, you almost need a nutritionist along with a high budget.

Why does this make me so angry? Temptation and research is easy for me, what sucks is simply not having the $.

Say you want to lift weights or jog 3x a week that would bring calories needed to at least 3,000, if you want to actually build muscle, like I assume Cam is and at his size you're needing even more. I can't imagine what his bill must be and he must be eating 7 $10 meals a day.

I hear you. Eating right can be expensive. I would go all the way organic, but no way I can afford it, so I hold my nose, dive in and don't think about all the unnatural junk added to my fowl, fruits and veggies. I would eat more seafood, but, like you said, it's cost prohibitive. I must eat the relatively inexpensive chicken and turkey just to make sure I am getting enough protein. I tried going vegan on my budget, but I started losing muscle, so I basically said "to hell with this", and that's when I decided to compromise by giving up red meat.

I also added cheese and yogurt back to my diet.

I am not anal about anything except red meat, processed sugar, partially hydrogenated oil and other trans fats, and high fructose corn syrup (Coke and Dew being my biggest problem). Don't get me wrong, I have ice cream and a donut sometimes, but I have cut back drastically. Even with some cheating, I am super aware of my caloric intake and the ingredients that I am eating. That's the best that I can do on my budget.

Oh, sodium is bad also. I definitely watch the sodium being hypertensive.
