The Top Tier WRs according to Cosell

Never know. Would it have been ridiculous to say OBJ was better than Watkins or that our #28 overall pick would look like a top 10 pick in spurts? Only time will tell.

No and no.

There were quite a few that thought OBJ was better or at least very close to Watkins. It wasn't a majority but the sentiment was out there.

Everyone knew Kelvin had top 10 ability but people were worried about consistency. I'd say that was pretty spot on.

If you're going to base college receivers solely off route running then you wouldn't have enough receivers in the NFL. The large majority of them need to be taught to run routes. Moreover, it is a bit presumptuous for you to conclude that Greg Cosell or any serious talent evaluator is giving his opinions based solely on size and speed. Dude, that is absolutely ludicrous. Do you even listen to the guy at all? Not saying that his mouth is a prayer book, but he is generally spot-on in his analysis regarding what he sees of not only the collegians, but the pros as well.

Exactly, if we only drafted guys with pristine route running the only WR on our board last year would have been OBJ.  We wouldn't have KB.

KB was a much better route runner coming out than people gave him credit for.

Perhaps, but Gettleman still clearly stated that the only WR that had no question marks regarding his route running ability was OBJ. KB was more of a specimen and often times the smaller things it takes to play the position like route running gets overlooked when talking about those sorts of players.

I cited his own article as evidence. there really is no debate here.

Also, I never said only draft receivers with great route running, I was arguing why those 2 weren't in the same tier as Cooper. However, if we're drafting a receiver in the FIRST round, then yes he should be NFL ready, or damn close.

What you cited is an overall impression based upon these receivers' targets for the whole year. Furthermore, he looks at tape before the Combine and basically sees if the measurables are reconciled with what he sees on tape. So, actually the measurables are secondary to what he sees on tape.
