Thomas Davis Honors

Its The Milk

Recommended Posts

The only problem here is that TD has spent half his career on IR. Being the NFL Man of the year is super special, definitely belongs in the Panthers Ring of Fame but a statue may be a stretch.

Dont want to ruffle feathers, but if he can string together a few more seasons like this past one and stay commited to exemplifying all that one can be as an NFL player, that statue may be forthcoming.

Luke is well on his way to being a Hall of Famer...he's got a better chance of a statue right now.

Thomas Davis is the ducking man. He had one college football offer, became an All American, blah blah blah. I could write a novel about this dude and I wouldn't begin to touch on the level of respect and admiration he's earned within the last half decade. He's an exemplary Panther and has helped create a HOF middle linebacker in a short span of 3 years.

Sam Mills probably won't be in the Hall of Fame, and even so, his best years were in New Orleans.

The statue honor is even more about off the field stuff than on the field. Sam Mills got that statue because he was the first defensive leader this organization had and led a 2nd year team all the way to the NFCC in 1996. He also made a speech in 2003 that became the Panthers motto. Sam Mills IS the Carolina Panthers.

Thomas Davis used his platform as an NFL player to become Man of the Year and continues to play at a high level despite THREE ACL surgeries. He's probably not going to the Hall of Fame, but he's the closest thing we've had to another Sam Mills.

If Thomas Davis doesn't get a statue, no one should.

As long as he doesn't do something stupid and/or illegal, he's done enough already to earn a statue. He is to this Panthers team what Sam Mills was in the 1990s.

If the standards for a statue are so high that you feel TD doesn't deserve one, then nobody will ever be good enough to earn one.

Again, man of the year is rare and beautiful. TD is a dedicated man and football...definitely a man among men.

Statue worthy? debateable.

I mean, we hold onto Witherspoon, we never draft TD. We hold onto Beadon,...we never draft Kuechly.

Just glad he is the man he is and r

the player he has become.

Ring of Honor for sure.

2005 was a long time ago, and I'm not so sure TD was drafted to replace Spoon. Spoon was Will while TD was a Sam until the Meeks years.

TD was drafted because he had the speed to contain Vick, who had completely dominated us to that point.

Despite your claim that half his career was spent on IR, he has been very dependable the last 4 years

42 games in 10 years, a number that includes missing 30 of 32 games in 2010 and 2011
