It's a trip seeing some of the names from back in the day. So many guys are all hype and flop in the NFL.

If there's two people I really didn't have very good feelings about back then, it was polian and Collins. Turned out my hunch was right on both of them.

1995 was a pretty weak draft. Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks were the only great players from that class that I can recall.

Steve McNair is the guy we missed on, though. He went 3rd overall. But I doubt Polian would've taken him at #1 over Collins.

But at least we didn't draft David Carr over Julius Peppers. That's still the dumbest draft move I can think of. The implications that decision had on Houston & Carolina were astronomical. The Texans spiraled straight into mediocrity with Carr & Peppers led us from 1-15 to the Super Bowl in just 2 seasons.

 

I was always under the impression that Carr was broken by the team that drafted him. He wasn't a bad QB, the texans were just a really bad team all around.

Yeah, Carr was sacked more than any QB over his first 5 years, Houston's oline sucked.

Thank god we didn't use the 1st overall pick on Ki-jana Carter. Can you image the #1 pick being used on any RB in this day and age? LOL
