Dear Ms. McCormick.

It is with a very heavy heart that I must inform you that your son Kenny was killed in battle on the morning of November 18, at Ruby Falls Funland in Chattanooga. This war has taken something from all of us, and, although your son seems to be the only casualty so far, know that we all share your pain. Your son did not die in vain. I shall persevere and make Stan and Kyle my slaves.

Because I hate those guys. I  hate them so very very much.

Yours,

General Cartman Lee.

I hope you don't think they make a decision prior to the draft what position to choose...do you?

I think they have a pretty good idea going in and then react to the board as far as who's still available on their board and the board. If you don't, then I'm at a loss for words for u

I have been on the WR bandwagon for aeons now, but I trust Gman's judgment at the top of the draft implicitly. That being said, I hope that a WR is the BPA in the first round. Big men do not hog mollies always make. Moses and Kouandjio should have taught you that. It's more hog and less mollie. I leave it up to Gman to distinguish between the two, as well as what makes another position outside of OT and WR the BPA.

Tony Dungy put it best a couple of weeks ago on the radio. He said something to the effect of this in ref to Mariota and Iggles: and I'm paraphrasing.

If u see a young man that u know can make your system nearly unstoppable, that fits your system, and makes your team an immediate contender, then go get him! It's not considered a reach if the player will have an immediate positive impact.

Of course this is like comparing apples to oranges, as he's a QB and I'm talking about WRs. I do agree with his statement though. I feel like a Dorsett comes in and immediately has that type of impact on our offense. I also know that many will disagree with this. That's okay though, because we're all here to agree and disagree. State what we feel and have healthy conversations or arguments about it. The draft will play out, and we'll get better either way. How much better is the ultimate question. For me adding Dorsett is the answer, and I hope we go that route (pun intended). If we don't though, I'll live and the Panthers will be just fine

I think we do this:

1. If a top 2 RB is there, we take him. if not--

2. If a top 4 WR (excluding DGB--I bet he is not on our board) is there, we take him. if not...

3. If a top LT candidate is there (probably Peat or Flowers) we take him. if not....

4. If a top pass rusher is there (excluding Gregory--after the Hardy situation, you are dreaming) we take him. if not...

5. If a top DT is there (surely we are not counting on Coles at 35) we take him.

Just guessing. I literally have no idea. Shaq and Perriman are staying in my head every time I dismiss them. For those of you who think Shaq is a second rounder, remember this--he is perhaps the best overall football player / athlete in this draft. Draftniks who do not know what to do with a player call them "tweeners" and thus devalue them. However, today's defenses are more complex, and a player like Shaq is a a great tool for a 4-3 defense. As a SS, he is probably a second rounder. As a LB, he is probably a mid second rounder. But as a player who can do both, he is possibly a late first rounder.

This is dead on the Bulls eye, I agree

As a fellow U homer, I objectively agree. I believe that Dorsett is THE receiver that not only fits our need at WR best but is as complete a package as we can get at that position. I'd be happy with him in the first as I think his hype train is rolling and will be gone by the early 2nd at the latest. If he gets to 48 I'd be surprised and of course would advocate trading up to get him then. But in general, out of all the possible prospects for us, I like his skill set and abilities the most.

Add Duke Johnson in the 3rd and I might try and find a Panther colored "U" hat or shirt. Come to think of it, I may try to find that anyways. :)

Def not gonna argue that, but on paper it is better. Not exponentially so, but a step up. I don't know man, just trying to see what everyone else thinks tbh. The fact that the FO has put the team in a position to where we really don't know which way they're going is a true testament to how well they have positioned us to draft BPA and not reach out of a particular need.

Having said all of that, I don't want us to pass on a solid WR prospect to see that player end up on the Saints roster a few picks later. That's how it goes though, and that's why I'm glad I'm not in their position. They have to do what's best for our team and not worry about anyone else

The Saints have Drew Brees. it really doesnt matter who they have at WR 'cause Brees will find 'em and his timing is impeccable.

Why the heck would we draft a player just to keep him away from a division rival? We better be drafting players that we want and that fit in our system.

The day we fear the Saints enough just to try and draft a guy they covet, is the day we tuen into the Saints. Forget them, we should be worried about ud beating any and every other one of the 31 teams in the league.
