How much better is our OL than it was last year?

We have the same guys, and added arguably two bigger questions marks than Byron Bell. Because with Bell we already knew what we were getting. Yeah they could work out, or they could continue to suck here. We don't know. I damn sure wouldn't say we are "better" until we see them actually play.

I think we do this:

1.  If a top 2 RB is there, we take him. if not--

2.  If a top 4 WR (excluding DGB--I bet he is not on our board) is there, we take him.  if not...

3. If a top LT candidate is there (probably Peat or Flowers) we take him.  if not....

4. If a top pass rusher is there (excluding Gregory--after the Hardy situation, you are dreaming) we take him.  if not...

5. If a top DT is there (surely we are not counting on Coles at 35) we take him.

Just guessing.  I literally have no idea.  Shaq and Perriman are staying in my head every time I dismiss them.  For those of you who think Shaq is a second rounder, remember this--he is perhaps the best overall football player / athlete in this draft. Draftniks who do not know what to do with a player call them "tweeners" and thus devalue them.  However, today's defenses are more complex, and a player like Shaq is a a great tool for a 4-3 defense.   As a SS, he is probably a second rounder.  As a LB, he is probably a mid second rounder.  But as a player who can do both, he is possibly a late first rounder.

Last I checked a lot more WRs than OTs are available every free agency AND this draft is deeper in WRs than OTs. But since a mock came out that says the Taints will get a WR at #31, it scared some Huddlers and we need to take a WR so they have less to choose from. And when the next mock comes out, we will need to change who we take once again.

Got it.

I'm not 100% convinced that our o-line is so much better that we can over look a quality o-line man if one falls to us at 25...

Def not gonna argue that, but on paper it is better. Not exponentially so, but a step up. I don't know man, just trying to see what everyone else thinks tbh. The fact that the FO has put the team in a position to where we really don't know which way they're going is a true testament to how well they have positioned us to draft BPA and not reach out of a particular need.

Having said all of that, I don't want us to pass on a solid WR prospect to see that player end up on the Saints roster a few picks later. That's how it goes though, and that's why I'm glad I'm not in their position. They have to do what's best for our team and not worry about anyone else

The assumption there is that Cam would rather a WR than an Olineman. I have no idea what he wants...but I'm pretty sure he would like a better team and that, at least, should happen regardless of who we draft. That being said...I have no idea what they will do in this years draft.

I agree. I also think that a ball-control, running, defensive football team isn't served very well drafted WR's in the first round two years in a row.
