Dear Carolina Panthers FO

LUUUUUKE

Recommended Posts

Please don't take a conservative approach to this years draft. Our O-Line is already better than it was last year. Please don't take the safe route and draft an O-lineman.

Go the route less traveled, and get us a top tier WR to add to Cams weapons that he can grow with over the next several years. Not only will this fill a huge need, but it will also go a long way to getting a long term contract with our franchise QB.

Please Please Please draft a WR in the first.

That is all

The assumption there is that Cam would rather a WR than an Olineman. I have no idea what he wants...but I'm pretty sure he would like a better team and that, at least, should happen regardless of who we draft. That being said...I have no idea what they will do in this years draft.

Dear Panthers FO,

Please don't reach in the draft and select a player in the first that's not worth a first round selection.  Please select best player available and hopefully let it be at a position of immediate need.

Thank you

I don't have faith the oline can stay status quo. The two new signings are coming off bad seasons and hope is that they will improve enough to be servicable.

What happens if both these guys do not improve. We will be back to square one.

I must have missed the starter quality LT signing. I'm fine with either.

I got you bro, but here's where I'm coming from on that. We have a couple of guys coming back from Injury, draft picks at that, and we've added Oher and Martin. While neither are elite, we are truly better off up front than we were last year, with lots of depth at that.

A WR on the other hand helps Shula and Cam open up the offense, something we desperately need to happen. Cam has done well with less up front, so I feel that it honestly affords us the opportunity to go WR. I could also see us going RB if either of the top 2 RBs are available.

Bottom line: I saw a mock this am that has Dorsett going to New Orleans at 31. I would hate for that to happen, but I realize I have zero control obviously. Would love for us to get Dorsett or Perriman at 25. Our offense would be disgusting

dear panthers fo,

just a heads up but this site is going to hate you when you don't double dip at wideout in the first two rounds.  also i know you don't give a hot poo what a bunch of armchair GMs who don't have to write million-plus dollar checks think but this is more of a rhetorical exercise and whatnot

Dear Armchair GM's:

We make the decisions we do because we have information about players, contracts, needs, and aspirations for the team that you cannot begin to understand or fathom.

While we know it is good fun and we DO in fact appreciate fan insights, rest assured we are working for the organization (and you aren't) because we bring something to the table that 99.9% of fans/others don't.

Thank you for your letter, and please accept this complementary keychain as a souvenir  and demonstration of our appreciation for the laughter and joy your letter has brought to us.

Sincerely,

FO

Not at all actually. Just what I would like to see happen. I would totally understand if we went OT or RB before we go WR. This is one of the deepest drafts as far as the WR position goes, so it almost makes sense not to go WR. Still, my point is to go another route. Historically, we make the safe picks, and that has worked well for us in recent years. I'd just prefer to see an aggressive move to take a WR. I think that would fire up the fan base and the team.

Again, that's what's great about being an arm chair GM. I don't have to deal with the backlash of a pick, but they do. Which is why I will always trust their expert opinions and judgement.
