Son of a beach...here's a mock

Here’s my office friendly annual draft mock thing:

Note: There are two players I really want that I didn’t draft: Devante Parker WR (no trade-up) and Jaquiski Tartt SS (Thought of other value)

Draft

1. Andrus Peat OT Stanford 6’7 613

Peat maybe perceived as a boom-or-bust by some but if there is a blue goose at the tackle position, it’s him.  I think Fisher surprisingly goes before him along with Scherff and Collins.  I also see teams picking more skill positions early this year given the success of the last draft.  Peat is also one of two guys I would be down for us drafting up for (+Parker)

(Other considerations: Landon Collins, Bud Dupree, Agholor, Kevin Johnson)

2. Quinten Rollins CB/FS Miami (OH) 5'11 195

Why I like Rollins: He can play outside, in the slot, and at FS as well.  What we were trying to do with Colin Jones at the end of last season could be Rollins’ role and more in our defense.   I was really thinking about J. Tartt here because he would give us a starting SS but think Coleman-Harper is better than what’s going on in the rest of the secondary and Rollins is a strong potential BPA.

(Other considerations: Shaq, Tevin Coleman, McKinney)

3. Justin Hardy WR East Carolina 5'11 192

I know everyone expects a DL early, well…I expect a few DLs from this class but not early.  Unless Dupree falls in 1, or P. Smith in 2, I don’t see many strong fits.  Hardy is a good possibility and I think I speak for many who would welcome him into BofA.

(Other considerations: Josh Shaw, Daryl Williams, Doran Grant)

4. Za’Darius Smith DE Kentucky 6'4 274

Didn’t wait too long for a defensive lineman.  Smith was just as a force as Dupree for Kentucky and I think he’s a great fit into our rotation ahead of Horton and Alexander.  If CJ or Ealy miss time, having another balanced-DE is big and this guy has 3-down potential.

(Other considerations: Davis Tull, Buck Allen, Diggs)

5. Dezmin Lewis WR Central Arkansas 6’4 214 (4.46 40)

This is a prospect teams are high on but since he’s from a small school, the media can miss mentioning…but damn can he just beat out CBs coming in at a fast 6’4 that ran a full route tree in college.  He high points the ball and has good hands.  There’s a lot to like about this kid.

C5. John “Taz” Crockett RB North Dakota State 6'0 217

I like what I’ve read and seen on this kid as well.  Great size + speed combo, and has the potential of a 3-Down RB.  Ran his NDSU team to consecutive FCS championships…. Taz was a big part of that team being so dominant in recent years.

C5. Quayshawn Nealy OLB/ILB Georgia Tech

Word is that we’re pretty high on Nealy and I can see why.  He could warrant a higher pick in the 4th so think this would be great value.

6. Derrick Lott DT TN-Chattanooga

Lott is a sleeper at the DT position that could be fringe-roster maker or replace an oldie in Edwards or Cole.

7. Austin Shepherd OT/G Alabama

Late flyer on another OL that could be a good Chandler/Velasco replacement in 1.

So is Peat really being rumored to drop that far down now?

I think it could happen but have a weird suspicion this year with a R1 trade.  Scherff is the most sure thing, Collins may start as a OG but will go high, someone will surprisingly grab Fisher early, then it allows Peat and Flowers to possibly be available when we pick.  A power run team could prefer Flowers as well so it really just depends on how things roll out.

OP, you put waaaay too much work into the mock draft only to turn everyone into drolling idiots with the ladies.  I can't decide when we should pick a WR because I'm too busy wondering what side dish would go well with that sand-covered ass.
