Titans Report:

-Dont need a subscription to PFF to see Oher has been crap.

-Oher has been below average his whole career.

-Oher has sucked

-After this season Oher needs to be let loose.

Titans Report, back when they first signed Oher:

-What the f? He was one of the worst right tackles in the league last year

-He was playing left tackle the year before and was very bad there too.

-Oher was horrendous last year, worse than a hobbled Stewart. a RT giving up 8 sacks and 40+ hurries is as bad as it gets

-i bet the actor who played him is better

-This is a disastrous signing

-if you guys were frustrated with Warmack, wait until Oher gets out there

-Sandra Bulluck starring in the sequel: "The Blind GM"

-F the haters, I like this pick up

-hopefully the Titans new OL coach will get more out of him. I'm relieved though that we won't see an offensive tackle in the first round. They needed that flexibility.

-if that kills the OT in round 1 talk then I'm happy

-a reason I love it is we can now 100% take OT off our board for Rd 1 and a change of scenery I feel will do Michael very well

-So glad we wont go OT in the first now.

-Glad this is a position we don't need to take early in the draft. Michael Oher is a guy that still has a lot of talent.

-A Change in scenery can do a lot for some guys. The signing doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling but I'm happy that we don't have to draft OL early.

-All set to take the best pass rusher on the board in round 1.

-Not a bad price for a solid RT. Just not sure Oher's that solid.

-bet Stingily beats him out in camp.

-Oher has decent potential at OG

-Oher was miscast as a left tackle to begin with

-We still have to address LT at some point in the near future and Oher isn't the guy for that

-The guy is going to do wonderful on a new team

-I like the signing ...

-hopefully a new system, new teacher and the like will be a better fit for Oher.

-I like the signing. The guy has struggled, but he has all of the tools to be a good RT.

-Maybe now with the change in scenery & being closer to home something will click.

-lets see what Michael can do here before we stone him. We actually have a legitement offensive line coach.

-I think Oher will be fine...

Sports Illustrated when the Titans signed oher:

"Oher ranked 68th out of 76 qualifying tackles in Pro Football Focus' grading for the 2013 season, and he allowed eight sacks, seven hits and 42 quarterback hurries -- all at right tackle. Baltimore tried him at primarily left tackle the year before, and he allowed 11 sacks, nine hits and 32 hurries. HIs best season was actually his rookie campaign, when he allowed five sacks, six hits, and 21 hurries. Unfortunately, and as the Ravens became more of a passing team, it's been downhill from there.

...

This is a strange move. In Jake Locker, the Titans have a quarterback who doesn't deal well with pressure -- especially pressure right in his face -- and one wonders exactly what they see on tape that leads them to believe that Oher is the answer when it comes to protecting Locker's front side. Oher should at least be a powerful run blocker, but his relative lack of technique gets in the way at the NFL level, and he's got a lumbering gait as a pure pass-blocker. This seems to be a mistake, unless the Titans know something we don't."

Rotoworld when the Titans signed Oher:

We have to believe Ozzie Newsome is chuckling at this one. Oher, 28 in May, never got better during his five-year stint in Baltimore, struggling mightily in spot duty at left tackle and performing at a well-below-average clip on the right side. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 68 tackle in 2013, among 76 qualifiers. Oher was a dead-last 76th in run blocking with eight sacks allowed. He'll replace David Stewart at right tackle in Nashville. For the second consecutive offseason, the Titans are having a head-scratching free agency period under scuffling GM Ruston Webster."

A Byron Bell , Michael Oher swap is so fitting, because its a

lateral move for each team.

Bell may not be a super star, but he would be a major upgrade over Oher.

Tavares Collins @ DaManTSC

Bell will be an upgrade over Michael Oher

James Holaday Jr @ Titan4Ever595

I'm not sure there is worse than Oher. Bell and Oher may be the same but Oher was horrible

Paul Kuharsky @ PaulKuharskyNFL

the Panthers think Michael Oher is better than Byron Bell

Patrick @ TennessyXO

The Panthers didn't have to watch Oher's protective instincts fail play after play

personal take on Bell...You know when a team signs Oher to replace you you gotta really suck

TitansReport.com: Bell visiting Titans

- Panthers fans absolutely hate the guy. When it comes to OL fans almost always get it right in terms of who they hate. Keep this guy far away.

-Bell would have to line up in a 4 point stance to be worse than Oher.

-If Bell is signed..it will only verify that Webster learned nothing from the Oher mistake...

-Mike Keith was just on the Midday 180 talking about Bell. ... saying that he played poorly on the left side but was decent at times on the right side.

- It is beyond obvious that they are just going to have to draft someone on day 2 to start at RT. They simply can not afford to make another mess like Oher. You don't sign a guy to start just because he is a veteran. If he sucked before, he will continue to suck.

This is some good stuff. I bet by mid season they will be begging for Oher back.

cam will be more mobile this year and our line will be improved if by nothing more than experience as a cohesive unit with added bodies and stiffer competition.

i follow football and I cant even name a tennessee starting QB since Vince Young was there...and I know none since have been as elusive as Cam...thus adding to sacks allowed.

To be completely fair, if you aren't asking him to be your starting LT- Bell is not a bad player to have on your team.

He works super hard, is competitive, and as a back-up would be competent to come in and play snaps.

It was simply time for a divorce between the Panthers and Bell.

Bell was much less terrible at RT than Oher was at RT. Titans upgraded their RT spot with Bell over Oher. We moved RT Bell to LT and it was a disaster. Moving even-worse RT Oher to LT will likely be a bigger disaster. But at least most of our fans have never watched Oher before, and nobody pays attention to the OL anyway (every one is too busy following the ball), so downgrading from Bell to Oher will buy Gettleman some time before our fans catch on. Also, we had no other OT options we could afford in FA, hopefully we have some options in the Draft

Plus, Oher's problem, like Ereck Flowers, is that his technique sucks and never got better. As Oher lost a step and got older he got worse and worse every year because he doesn't take well to coaching. Maybe a new coach will help (but our OL coach coached him before and it didn't do anything for him)

I'm happy that Bell was able to find a job in the NFL. I was just wondering if we would resign him for a vet min deal if he wasn't signed by anyone and we didn't get a OT in the draft.

I don't think Bell is better than Oher. Maybe last year because he was hurt but not a healthy Oher.
