What is wrong with our justice system? We have failed if we have to wait for a private entity to administer any semblance of justice. The DA in Charlotte should bow his head in shame.

I'm sorry but if the NFL has all this damming evidence then why wasn't it shared? If any of this is true why wouldn't the courts follow through? Maybe because the injuries looked to be self inflicted? There are so many holes in her story and his, the NFL may feel like trying to be the law but it isn't. Plain and simple this is a PR judgment. . Goodell doesn't give a poo about the victim.. He cares about the sponsors and public opinion. . There is photographic evidence of bruises and scrapes all over her body; enough evidence that a judge found him guilty and now the NFL has suspended him after viewing.

And Hardy paid her an undisclosed amount of money to keep quiet and go away so he could avoid a jury trial.

The case was thrown out because Hardy paid Holder to go away and hide from the DA. The photos, no matter how bad they might be, aren't worth a damn in that case without her testimony. They spent weeks looking for her and had law enforcement searching for her. They didn't throw the case out because they didn't have a case. They threw it out because Hardy paid her off.

I don't know why I keep having to do this buttt it was a bench trail/trail de novo/NC state law blah blah blah. In short your wrong he wasn't found guilty read up on the law around here. It's stupid and backwards but it's just like seeing if the case is worth the states time or not, the verdict of the judge is meaningless.

This is the kicker, these so called photos arnt public and wasn't enough to go to trail with. The NFL is a private company that cares, and rightfully so, more about its public image than the truth. If you think for one second that this suspension has anything to do with right and wrong your crazy.

Your entitled to think he's guilty but please don't use incorrect facts to corroborate your opinion. That's what infuriates me the most. You don't know what happened neither do I but I don't pretend I have evidence that says he's innocent and she's crazy, that's just what I think.

Condo resident calls police and frantically says a woman is getting the living shít beat out of her.

Judge finds Hardy guilty after hearing testimonies & viewing photo evidence.

Panthers place Hardy on exempt list.

Hardy pays Holder to disappear so he doesn't have to face a trial.

DA motions to dismiss case after they fail to locate Holder for months, even with the aid of law enforcement.

Panthers briefly discuss re-signing Hardy but quickly dismiss the idea after internally investigating the case.

Cowboys sign Hardy after doing a thorough investigation into his DV case but write in numerous out clauses because they believe he will receive a lengthy suspension.

NFL spends months trying to gain access to case evidence and photos before making any decisions regarding Hardy's status. NFL is finally given the photo evidence, and just days later the NFL quickly suspends Hardy for 10 games. NFL states that photos show bruises and scratches all over Holder consistent with her testimony, including marks around her neck.

He didn't get suspended because he was accused. He got suspended because there were photos showing the evidence of how he beat her.

It's not an accusation, it's a fact.

So, now one must believe the NC judicial system or the NFL statement. They contradict each other.

If what the NFL states is true, then this case should have been elevated to a felony, the district court judge is wrong for omitting the physical battery in her judgement, and the DA should be removed for throwing out the case as there was enough physical evidence to move forward without Nicole Holder. Also, the officers Hardy called to the scene should be investigated since they failed to make an immediate arrest on a DV call when there was enough physical evidence.

If the legal system is correct and this is a misdemeanor where the officers had no grounds to make an arrest on the spot, and the DA did not have enough physical evidence to move forward in the case without Nicole Holder, then the NFL is about to lose their case when this goes to a judge.

If the later is true, Goodell should lose his job. If the NFL is just in their assessment, then the judge, officers, and DA should be held accountable.

I will defer to the judge, officers, and DA over Goodell and his idiot overpaid lawyers. Track record shows Goodell loses to the justice system every time. Keep in mind in the previous cases Goodell lost there was sufficient evidence.

This could very well line Hardy ' s pockets even more if Goodell loses this in front of a judge.

Does anyone realize the biggest hit on this with the NFL statement goes to the state of North Carolina? This indirectly infers that NC is an incompetent state that is soft on domestic violence in the public eye.

And, getting back to you, Scot, you act like you didn't read what I said the first time.

 

Personally I think that you can restrain most women without beating the crap out of them, but some men believe in hitting if they are hit, whether it be by a woman or a man.  The problem with this case is if there was enough of evidence of him "smacking" her around, then I would think that the police would have taken him to jail.  In this state, they can take you to jail anytime that the police are called and they see evidence of domestic violence. 

 

Moreover, but no less important is the fact that you have two drunk people. One has been on drugs before, has lied to the police before, and couldn't even get her own story straight, so why in the hell am I going to take her at her word that she got beaten?  And then, even after all that, she doesn't even show up in court to help prosecute the alleged perpetrator who does not have any history of domestic violence, and who has said that he was trying to restrain her when she became belligerent.

 

Where is the history of domestic violence? Where is the history of any kind of violence at all? Where is all of this criminal stuff that Hardy did as a collegian? High school?  Who had the history of drug and alcohol abuse?

 

Some of you just want to act like it's so cut and dried when it is absolutely not.  But, to each his own.  Like I said, that's the society that we live in.

It's not cut and dry. Most people besides batman know that hardy did something he shouldn't have that night but not to the full extent holder described

this is a sports business not a real judicial system, which I'm aware is very flawed, especially against minorities. Hardy got paid, and got paid big time for free. More money than we can ever dream of all the while acting like a 3 year old bringing a witness to the facility, popping champagne bottles the day he was put on the excerpt list and bring a smart ass in the court room.

He got away with highway robbery and you act like he is being vilified as a murderer or something. In the grand scheme of things this is just football and for you to say he should have just Ray riced that woman shows how much you need to step away from the keyboard and cool the fug down. He embarrassed this organization that night and in the subsequent days from his actions.

This is just another case of Goodell trying to flex his commissioner power and make examples out of people.

This suspension is for all intents and purposes a news headline.

Look everyone we suspended him 10 games. Way more than just 2. And then Hardys appeal will come thru and will most likely be dropped and by then no one will care.
