Week 5 Bye Week

What on earth does that have to do with treating the Seahawks like a "preseason game" and saying it's a "lost cause"?

I'm glad we get Seattle after bye because that week is a loss by default. Rather it be against a good team than some crap team like the Jags that we'd beat any other week.

I'll take the week 5 bye due to the fact that we play the three easiest divisions this season (ours, afc south, nfc east).  NFC east maybe isn't super easy but the Giants should be a win and Cam owns the skins.

The Panthers eventually have to beat the Seahawks in the regular season.

We get the mini bye late in the year after the thanksgiving game. I don't mind it at all.

It's a week or 2 early, but at least it's not Week 3 early. We had a good bye week last year. I'm ok with this one.

The 85 Bears had no bye week whatsoever.  It matters not.

Historically the schedule is a disaster for a Rivera led team.

 

Following a BYE week the Panthers are 0-4. In 4 games, they have scored 36 points and allowed 102 points.

 

Rivera has always started each season off with conservative coaching and vanilla game plans usually lasting about 6 to 8 games. Following the BYE game the Panthers record under Rivera is 7-23-1. The Panthers are 2-5 against division rivals in that stretch prior to the BYE loss.

 

Same pattern every season.

Week 5 isn't so bad.  Keep in mind including the preseason that's 8 weeks of football before the bye, and throw in training camp too.  Would be nice to see the bye closer to mid-season but better Week 5 than Week 12 like last year....
