Week 5 Bye Week

What on earth does that have to do with treating the Seahawks like a "preseason game" and saying it's a "lost cause"?

Oh, sorry. Thought you responded to another post, and ofcourse I didnt mean that literally about treating the Hawks game like a pre season game, just emphasizing how its a lost cause beating them

We always play better after the bye so I don't mind it

Sarcasm?

Historically the schedule is a disaster for a Rivera led team.

Following a BYE week the Panthers are 0-4. In 4 games, they have scored 36 points and allowed 102 points.

Rivera has always started each season off with conservative coaching and vanilla game plans usually lasting about 6 to 8 games. Following the BYE game the Panthers record under Rivera is 7-23-1. The Panthers are 2-5 against division rivals in that stretch prior to the BYE loss.

Same pattern every season.

Week 5 isn't so bad.  Keep in mind including the preseason that's 8 weeks of football before the bye, and throw in training camp too.  Would be nice to see the bye closer to mid-season but better Week 5 than Week 12 like last year....
