What do you think NFL QBs prefer? Better weapons or better protection?

The best cover corners in the world can't cover an NFL receiver for more than 3-5 seconds. An o-line has to and is proved to be a QBs best friend. Ask Aikman.

The best lineman in the world can't block NFL D-lineman for more than 3-5 seconds. Goes both ways.

Cap space

pie for posting the true secret to piling up success in this league.

You can have all the great talent in the world on your roster but if your cap number isn't a high number then the only thing you're really coming away with is wins and lombardis

As for the answer to the question:

There is no real answer. A QB in a New England or Philadelphia style offense would rather have talented, intelligent WRs who can make quick coverage reads and quickly run a precise route with great timing and positioning or without being redirected than a OG who can block for five seconds. You're seeing more teams at every level adopt this trend rather than the archaic 'bait them with the run then hit 'em deep when they least expect it!' we're so intent on trying to keep relevant

We haven't had the personnel up front or on the perimeter to run the kind of offense we want to run the past few years and we haven't had the smarts to change it

Five Bryon Bell with Five Calvin Johnson

Or

Five Joe Thomas with Five Darrius Heyward-Bey

Which would you live with?

I'd take 5 Joe Thomas' in a heart beat and run the ball all damn day.

Maybe put one on the outside on passing downs for the occasional but always entertaining fat man touchdown

Peyton and Rodgers seem to do well with mediocre lines and good weapons.

If you have a bad LT it easier to cover up the flaw by siding protection, leaving a RB to block or helping them chip with a TE. When you have a bad WR theirs not much you can do, its up to the QB.
