1st Rd OTs: When are we supposed to hold our breath?

Since we don't get to choose until #25 - the most likely pick will be one of the better OTs will dropping to us (whether it's Collins, Flowers, Peat, Clemmings or Fisher). My question is: What team above us is in line to take a OT during the first round that we should be holding our breath when their pick comes in?

Giants at #9 seem like an obvious OT candidate

Chiefs at #18 might grab one

Browns at #19 need one for sure

who else am I missing?

Literally any team can grab a first round OT and probably 28 out of 32 teams in the NFL could reasonably swipe one. It is a classic safe pick with an immediate upside. By the 25th pick, there's a chance none of those guys will be around.

Or this could be the year the RBs come roaring back into vogue.

I'm thinking Clemmings may be available and would be a great pick. Barring that, I'd shoot for Oregon's Jake Fisher, who might be a better fit for Cam's style of play.

i am actually very comfortable taking Fisher with the #25 overall pick. He wont be there at #57. value is just too high.

if Shaq Thompson, Todd Gurley, any 1st round reciever, or any of the top tackles arent there... pull the trigger on Fisher

In addition to the ones you've listed.

Miami at 14 doesn't need an OT but they really need a G so they could take one of the guys who is likely to slide inside like Collins, Scherff or even Flowers.

Cincinnati at 21 could also take one. They have an immediate need for a RT and a long term need at LT for when Andrew Whitworth, 33, retires.

Detroit at 23 is the most likely candidate to take an OT as they might have the biggest need at the position outside of the Panthers.

Philadelphia at 20 and Pittsburgh at 22 have minor OT need but I would be very surprised if they took one.

Atlanta and New Orleans, unfortunately...

though i do believe they have bigger needs.

New Orleans needs guards more than they need Tackles.  Atlanta definitely does, but with Quinn coming in and they already locked up at QB, I have no doubt he's going Defense, I could be wrong though because their offensive line is atrocious.

with Baker and and Matthews coming back from injury, their situation isnt dire. but it certainly could be improved also.

i agree about New Orleans, but if im thinking correctly, a few of their "tackles" are actually more set up to be guards athletically. grabbing a tackle or two in the draft would help them move their vets to the inside. i could be wrong though

By the time we pick, a lot of talented guys will be off the board. Last I heard, 250 could be gone. That said, we should still be able to get a talented kid at 25. Whether he be a line-man, or a skilled position player, he should probably still push to be a starter.

We did get KB last year at 28. So there is still reason to hope we can be successful this year. There is just something about this draft that scares me. I know we should get a talented kid, but I am still worried all the good talent will be gone.

3 more days. I guess I can last that long.
