A closer look at Todd Gurley

If there were not injury concerns he would be taken in top 15.  He maybe there when we pick only because of injury concerns.  I could see us taking him at out pick but not moving up to take him. There are so many other guys out there who can run the rock and plenty of other choices at our pick without falling in love with one player and reaching for him.  Fortunately this is not Hurney but Gettleman making the decision.

You have your top tier players. 1st round game changer type RB.

You have your 2nd tier players. The 2-3 round guys. In a perfect marriage, they can shine. Most are usually solid rotational guys, and should give you good production type RB.

You have your 3rd tier players. ST aces, with occasional work at RB.

This year there are a poo ton of those 2nd tier guys. We can wait til the 3rd round, and still get a damm good RB. We can use our 1st or 2nd on O-line or WR, or even CB, and still get a good RB.

We do not need a RB (Gurly) badly enough to use a 1st rounder on him.

Lastly. Here's a thought. What happens if Stewy plays all year, has a really good year, and show everyone he can be what we thought he could be? Do we extend him?
