Automotive Window Tinting

So far Batman is giving good advice. However go with the legal limit. Unless, 1. you know a vehicle inspector who will pass your yearly inspection (if you need it physically inspected, in SC I don't think you do; in NC I know you do) , and 2. know you're going to own this car for life. Trading it in, but more importantley selling to another person privatley won't be easy unless they don't care because it costs time and money (as much to put it on) to take tint off.

I also vouche for Sun Stoppers. I got the most expensive film UNDER the metallic. It was around $250-300. They did a great job and 7 years later, still looks great. As Batman said, when you see poo purple, bubbled tints that is a sign of an idiot buying cheap ass film on eBay and applying it themselves. No shop is really going to use that film.

Look for coupons, and Groupons. I have a half price groupon so I didn't pay the listed $300 price. My car is legal NC limit, but I would say the heat has easily been cut by 30% if not more. I don't have a strip done, just sides and back. Lastly, like Batman said, it's more about the person doing the job that matters most. It is very very easy to fug up a tint job with bubbles or scratches. Before you leave inspect all the windows very well. A quality tint is how it looks labor wise (cutting and applying), rather than tint film quality.

And never...EVER clean your newly tinted windows (inside of car) with windex (or harsh cleaner).
